Hello Andrew at admin regarding my Isusu Trooper aerial problem
Sometimes if you write a word that Fixya scripts doesn't like, it won't let you post it. Think of Fixya as your 90 year old granny and what words might offend her.
No, I just changed the Category, so your posts ends up in the correct 'filing cabinet'. Some of the Experts only check the Categories that they are Experts in. You weren't talking about an Ariel Car, you were referring to an Isuzu Trooper, so I just altered the category. Your original post just said 'Trooper' (I edited it). All question for vehicles need FULL 'year make model'. If you do that, Fixya scripts will suggest the correct category, but you confused it by capitalizing the word 'Ariel'..
I put a link to to the post in the last message to you.
ONCE AGAIN, making Follow-up posts as new posts doesn't work. Posts here are not threaded or linked, so this post has absolutely NO context to your other posts. I only saw this because I am here all day answering and refreshing the feed. All you have to do is click the word 'COMMENT' under my post.
Here is the link to all your posts. You just have to click on your name highlighted in blue on any of your posts or by clicking your name top right, and then 'My home'.

and then click on the word 'question' highlighted in blue

Where to check tranny fluid, cant find dipstick??
1999 Isuzu Troopers w/automatic transmissions do not come with a
dipstick. It is a sealed transmission just like a manual transmission.
The fluid must be checked by removing the fill plug. Emergency brake on,
engine running, warmed up ,vehicle in neutral. When removing the fill
plug ,which is on the side of transmission- at the top, fluid should
slightly drip out. If fluid doesnt drip out you need to add fluid. You
will need a small hand pump to fill it.

How to test the high pressure oil pump?
If you have no oil pressure on the dash gauge you need to drop the tin sump under the engine and check the two oil pick up pipes in there . They crack and fall off or the seal goes hard letting in air so no oil pumps. An known fault on the 3.0
The long one is for the engine oil lube ( turbo ) and the short one is for the injection system .
The high pressure pump is only for the injectors.
If you have good oil pressure on the dash gauge then I agree with Guru Ronaldbrains the turbos are poor but ! its 5/30 oil in 3.0 4JX1 engine or you will have starting troubles .

I had the trooper in for an oil change and emmissions check. Next day, it almost stalled. After a couple trips, it started to stall every time it stopped and I tried to start up again.
Turned out, the tubing coming out of the MAF has a hose clamp around it. That hose clamp could freely spin around. I tightened it up. The truck started running better. And after 3-4 trips, the codes cleared themselves.
Reading about it, there are a lot more causes, but this was apparently mine. IDK why it was loose. Something at the inspection place. Maybe they did it on purpose because they wanted nearly $80 to replace the fuel filter (a $10 part) and I refused.
