There is no typcial any thing, period !
Repair shops can't use your parts, because:
1: their insurance co. forbids it, (for good reasons, (off shore) craap parts. (12,000 miles away , and sold on fleabay, junk)
2: they can;t warranty their work using your unknown parts.
3: they want the car to be safe which means (their parts, their skill and their labor, simple logic and all true)
easy peasy huh?
and you do know, you can pull the parts and have them fitted at any machine shop on earth, right? they have all PRESSES.
If you get in trouble, but why expect it? it comes off, just like most do. tap tap tap it pops off, try pen oil in the root of rotor? sure.
are you think a slam hammer is a press? really ?
there is no press needed,,, so is a canard.
if hub or rotor is tight, (it wont) make a puller.
buy one or make one, ask how. (a chain, + heavy object on end)
youtube has vast examples ever look there first. for first rotor swaps ever?
and rust can make this harder, (ever work cars in the RUST BELTS)?
you can buy dirt cheap rotors. from fleabay for as low as 12 bucks
you think that is smart? using those junk parts, for being safe,
IT'S ONLY brakes, LOL !!!!!!
my guess is front rotors. (yes, man up or pay up?)
here is the FSM words."front and rear end"
- Raise and safely support the vehicle.
- Remove the front wheel and tire assembly.
- Unbolt the caliper and suspend it with a piece of wire. Do NOT let the caliper hang by the brake hose.
- Remove the rotor. (hit around circum with rubber mallet)
- Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
for better choices, see rockauto.com for top brands and prices.
prices vary in all regions of the world do to taxes and bs like that.
prop. tax, wages, ins. cost. building costs, etc.
so price really is YOUR job, . (no country stated, in canada?)
as they say, let your fingers do the shopping, in the yellow pages wins.(today its google)
is this also rear disc's some have that. (options)
is this 2wd or 4wd?, pretend we are blind , we really are.
here is wheel bearing work (hubs) (the harder job, i post here because you said PRESS , so......
4-Wheel Drive Models
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
- Place the transfer case in 2WD.
- Raise and support the front end.
- Remove the caliper from the anchor plate and suspend it out of the way.
- Remove the rotor.
- Loosen the caulking around the front driveshaft nuts. Remove the nuts and discard them.
- Remove the 4 hub retaining bolts.
NOTE
If the hub is difficult to remove, install 2 long bolt in the bolt holes and strike them to loosen the hub.
the spec on bolt torque is huge, do not GUESS !!!
log in to alldata.com read how to do each step.
then decide if this is hard, IT''S NOT.
get new rotors and rebuilt calipers from Raybestos,
a top brand here state side, that i trust my life to.
