Remove battery terminals and clean both posts and terminalswith sandpaper until you see shiny metal. The black coating is lead sulphate which has a high resistance to current flow both into and out of the battery. Check that the terminals are tight

Hi, that would be your alternator needs to be overhauled. The battery light is usually a good indicator that your alternator is not charging.
You'll need to get the bearings,brushes, and vacum pump seals replaced. Hopefully the regulator is ok, but they will test this when you get it repaired.

In short your alternator is not charging....

Pull the carpet down from where it goes up into the console trim on the left side of the shifter. Look back towards the heat vent, you'll see it! This is an OBDI system, so it only has 3 wires going to it.

Have the fault codes read It could be faulty o2 sensors ---ambient air temp sensors MAF sensors or any number of other faults. The codes will point you in the right direction.

Assuming the radiator cap is working correctly, the most common cause would be a leaking head gasket.

The warning light is telling you the computer found something that will affect the performance and fuel mileage. You would need to get the computer scanned for trouble codes to proceed.

As in lobotomized, heh heh? That sounds like more reverse-engineering than the makers would put up with. Look under the dash, both sides. I really don't know, surprising if it has no modern electronics.

I was so devastated when the warning lights on 'a/t transmission oil' and 'check engine' was on. When I ran into a bump,some warning lights like 'winter' 'brake' etc all flashed up. When I read further on some comments here, I realized that the problems could be due to wiring or alternator faulty or even leakage. Thanx!

You have a gas leak somewhere. Try to follow the lines from your tank to the engine to try and find it.
