Engine D15Z1

Sounds like it has bad rings on that cylinder, but could be a problem with the head. You'll need to put a cylinder leakage guage on the cylinder and pressure it up and listen to where its leaking from.

I have a 1992 Honda civic lx with a 1.5 four

no start , crank perfectlyso , got spark? the ECU has programming (ROM) and in fact kills all fueling with no spark , (even if it thinks there is no spark, even if spark is ok)all ECU use a way to read back spark quality, (ALL){LAWS}how honda does it in code, i don't know , see C R O M E forum)turn the key over means nothing to me.?? sorry, it doent/try saying what postion? cranking? or just keyon.now some more EFI rules. The EFI (some) do not activate the pump relay until cranking.some do just key on for 3 seconds, read the FSM, its free.need a link to the free manual? read the ECU logic on that.?and prime has a special meaning, it means purge air,its not for fuel. some system send a fast prime pulse. to clear air from the pressure lines, this plus does not inject.that is how EFI works, the flow1: key on, ECU sends prime pulse, (air purge)2: some ecu, run pump for 3 seconds, and pressure hits 35psi? RTM.3: all ecu activate pump cranking and running.4: now check pressure. !" 36 psi FSM stated spec"5: now crank, if the ECU sees no spark errors, it injects6: if the ECU sees WOT. it stops injection to clear a flood, cranking.those rules cover most ECU made.honda this year has a special feature called,Fuel Cut-Off Control'if this messes up, it i can cut fueldoes this help?even better is this site, (has all the facts..)http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=810101

I am trying to locate my block heater in my 92

Not all cars have a block heater.....not to be confused with heater core..2different thing.. If you do indeed have a block heater, pop your hood, and look for a standard electrical plug somewhere...follow it to where it goes into the engine block...youve now found your block heater

1992 honda civic cx 1.5l will not idle cold. after

Wow, hope all this was not done to fix this problem? If the problem showed up after the timing belt, I would say the timing belt is a tooth off. If it broke a timing belt, a valve might be bent. If all this was done to solve this problem, you need to find a better mechanic to diagnose it.

Why would turning the steering wheel while cranking engine gets my car to start?

The ignition switch in the column most likely has a break in it. So when you move the steering wheel, it moves the wire so it completes the connection when you turn the key. Have the ignition switch replaced.

92 Honda Civic won't start

I owned the SAME CAR. Love it except when the Distributor went south. You can not tell if the spark is good enough... you can have a Spark on the outside but the compression will require a much stronger spark. If they put the Distributor in wrong, then you will have an issue.IF the Timing Belt was moved, then you are going to be fighting this for a while. Best to Start from Scratch with a Good Mechanic and see where it leads you.If you spray Ether into the Air Box, does the car start? No Start, you have a SPARK ISSUE. STARTS, you have a Fuel Deliver IssueTHE DISTRIBUTOR's are KNOWN to be defective,... Mine was intermittent but when I finally dropped the $225 on a distributor, all of my problems went away. Did they cross the Spark Plug wires and that is causing your issue? Check the Firing Order. Test your Fuel Injectors.. Use a NOIDS LIGHT
