Rear wheel Caliper assembly and rotor from the hub, if equipped with rear disc brakes Brake flex hose from the support bracket and wheel cylinder, if equipped with rear drum brakes. Install a center punch in the hole on the spindle and tap the punch into the hole until jammed. This will spread the spindle casting allowing it to be removed from the strut. Using a hammer, tap on the top surface of the spindle, driving the spindle down and off the end of the strut assembly. Let the spindle and assembled components hang from the trailing arm while the strut is being serviced. From inside the trunk of the vehicle, remove the 3 upper strut mounting bolts and remove the strut from the vehicle. Disassemble the strut by performing the following procedure: NOTE Service of the coil spring requires the use of a coil spring compressor tool. I need to know where the shift solenoid is it is a pack has an electrical connector on it and was told external part is this true and where is it

The shift solenoid is inside the transmission. The drain pan must be removed with the fluid. The filter and valve body unit also need to be removed. Unless you are really handy and have tools, I would get it repaired at a shop- usually around $250.

Why isn't my 2002 Chrysler 300m not going into manual shift?

  • The linkage could be jammed. You may need to access the linkage by removing the console.
  • Sometimes shifting to drive and park a few times will release it.
  • Get a OBD reader hooked up and read any tranny faults.

check for fuses to the ECM code p2008 refers to intakemanifold air control actuatoror solenoid bank 1---open circuit====causes wiring open circuit--intake manifold air control actuator/solenoid IF the coil was melted , it is possible that the wiring for the p2008 fault is in the same harness and has burnt through causing the open circuit. or melted out in the connection causing the open circuit.

The car is designed that way so the engine can not be over revved when there is no load. Almost all have that feature.

Is there a way i can program an ignition key with a chip for my 02 chrysler 300 m ?

With only 1 key, no. To do it yourself you need 2 keys. But if you have a good rapport with dealer they may not charge to program it. On the other hand you might check with a locksmith because some have the progtammer necessary.and that would most likely be much cheaper if the dealer does charge.

How do I reattach an otherwise intact passenger side mirror on a 2002 chrysler 300m?

if its just the glass that has come off you can have it re-glued at a glass shop. or you can try a glass epoxy glue and try it your self and hope the mirror won`t fall off and break.

Where is the battery located

Underneath the air cleaner housing. To remove and replace if you can start the car turn steering wheel fully to the right or remove tire. Open hood, disconnect remote battery terminals, remove air intake filter box, remove vented panel inside front of right wheel well. On these cars you will have to disconnect exposed positive cable battery terminal first. BE CAREFUL YOUR WRENCH DOES NOT TOUCH ANY METAL WHILE REMOVING TERMINAL FROM BATTERY POST. Loosen and remove the two bolts on the tie down that secures battery in place. Slide battery until the negative terminal is exposed, disconnect and slide battery out into wheel well. Reverse order to install new battery.

The Coolant temp Sensor is located right under the top radiator hose (on the engine side), with a little black connector!, You might have to remove th etop hose to get to it with a deep socket and extension!.
Also Dont Forget to blled the coolant system by the bleeder valve uptop right near/above the coolant sensor!.(10MM Mini socket w/ extension IIRC!)
