1995 Olds Achieva S Grinding upon starting
They make that kind of noise if its low on fluid, and also depending on how cold it is they will make a lot of noise because the colder it is the thicker the oil is and the harder it is to pump. I am not there to hear the starter, If the starter is making noise it will only be audiable while your on start, i dought starter will make that noise while its running unless the drive is sticking . Have both the pump and starter chk.out.
Starter installation
The side post battery terminals on GM are a corrosion magnet, Take them off, pop out the bolt rom both positive and negative. Clean all the corrosion off the bolt all of it right down to shiny metal. Then peel the rubber cover on the cable ends back off the area where the bolt goes. wire brush it shiny if you have to cut the rubber cover so it will expose all of the cable end, then clean it good clean the battery where the cable connects also and put it all back togother make sure the engine side of the Negative is clean both the engine and the cable end and secure.

Pain in the *** starting problem
Was this starter from a discound retail parts store? well most times those cheap starters are no rebuilt very well you get what you pay for, Try this when it won't start reach and hit the starter with whatever you can a good sharp hit not too hard if it starts after you tap on it I have always had it be the starter the small wire goes on the "S" terminal and the big battery wire goes on the stud on the solonoid any other fuse link wires with the same size eyelet should also go on the same stud.
How to access the heater core from inside a 1995 oldsmobile achieva
Hi Garcia, I'm glad to help!
Garcia, if you plan to replace the HEATER CORE yourself then I must tell you that you will have to remove the complete dash out of the vehicle. Then remove the A/C Housing from the vehicle and take it apart to replace the heater core. I'm not sure what area you live but if your near Saint Peters Missouri give ma a call at 314-374-5218 and I'll help. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Garcia.
