How to check if cooling fan is working properly
Start the engine with hood up. Wait for it to reach operating temperature. When it does, fan should cycle on for a few seconds, then off. If it doesn't come on, turn car off and make sure fan is free spinning-no obstructions. Be careful, if engine is warm, fan can come on and start running. If fan is free wheeling, jumper it from battery to fan connector to check fan motor. If motor works when given battery voltage but still won't come on as it should (usually the engine has to be quite warm to turn on the fan-as in stop and go traffic, or long idle times), you will have to check wiring at the fan relay, check if temperature switch to turn fan on is working properly, check if computer is signaling fan to turn on at the relay. You will probably need a wiring diagram if you don't find the problem as a bad fan motor or bad relay.
I changed my water pump now the engine lacks power and uses more gas
if your engine isn't at the point of death; i would advise you to have one of two things did, either have your 02 oxgen sensor changed, or your fueling system cleansed. and also; I heared you say you replaced your fuel pump. if you didn't have problems starting the car it wasn't neccessary.
Heater sensors
The fan is not the problem then, It sounds like the switch for controlling the fan speed or on and off is the culprit. If it is just one switch that control on/off and the speeds then try wiggling it, push and pulling, it may be those contacts of the switch are worn out. There are lots of these cars in the junk yard. I would recommend replacing that panel with a used one.
No fuel pressure
You should check the electrical system i.e do you have spark at the spark plug ends? If no then work on this. If yes then remove the spark plugs, put half a teaspoon of fuel into each cylinder and put the plugs back. Try starting the engine. If it does then fuel isn't getting to cylinders. If it doesn't then you need a valve or complete overhaul job,
I cannot find where the
follow the positive (+) battery lead from the battery, it connects onto the starter.....cheers
Blowes the pcm fuse when key turn on
Hi, if you have the 4-cylinder, only the PCM and the ignition is on this fuse. If you have the V-6, the camshaft and crankshaft sensors are also on it. What I recommend is to disconnect everything on the fuse except the PCM, and then turn the key on. If the fuse blows, you know your PCM is shorted. If it doesn't blow, reconnect the ignition module and turn the key on again. If the fuse blows, you know the ignition is bad. If not, plug in the sensors one at a time to see which one is shorted. The location of the sensors are shown below, but there are 2 possible locations for the crankshaft sensor. The ignition module is under the coil pack. Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for using FixYa.
