what does code EGR P404 for a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country
Code EGR P404 is a problem with EGR (exhaust gas recirculaion), you have to replace the valve, check here for parts: partsamerica
The part costs $80/$100,. Having it done by a qualified mechanic, which is always the best choice costs around $250/$300.

My 2006 Town and Country passanger sliding door isn't working right. When I use the button on the overhead console it will work but sometimes I have to hit it multiple times. Then once the door fully opens it automatically closes itself or won't close using the button until I press it several times. Can you help me? Thank you
I've leased two Town and Country vans over the past 4 years, and actually purchased the latest one after the lease. In both vans the sliding doors, normally the drivers side, reacted teh same way. If the door was closed it would open, stop a one point, and then return to the open position. At times I could get it close. But over time the doors stoped working all together.
It is not due to the switch or the motor. Most cases like this (in in both of mine) it is due to the repetitive use of that door, and the realitive inflexibility of the wire harness. Over time, and with more uses (in my case the driver side sliding door was used alot) the wire in the harness fails. Picture it as a willow branch. One snapped off of a tree it first is green and flexible, and bends pretty well into any form. But over time, with age and repetitive bending, it will break.
The only recourse is a new harness, as the wire/wires are broken somewhere in the harness (the belt chain in the lower track of the door). I was temped to take it apart and try to repair it myself, but as the parts were under warranty (I have the extended 85,000 mile), I opted to have the professionals handle it. The repair without the warranty is under $200 typically (parts and labor). Good luck.

For the past several oil changes, I've noticed that my 2006 Chrysler Town and Country is consuming oil. The van has 31k miles on it. For every 3k miles, it burnt off just under a quart.
I have 2 months left on the manufacturer's warranty (bumper to bumper) and was hopeful someone could point me in the right direction. Doesn't appear to be any TSB out there for this problem. Should I be concerned? Thank you in advance.
Greg
I do not believe there is a fix by Chrysler. My van has 50000 and seems oil consumption is getting worse. It is either past the valve seals or the piston oil control ring. I believe Chrysler KNOWS ALL ABOUT THIS! If you google search this there are to many complaints! 1 quart every 3 thousand miles is not exceptable unless you are driving a model T!

2006 Chrysler Town & Country driver's side power window stopped working. I checked the fuses and they are all fine. I don't want to take it to the shop to be fixed because I really don't want to spend $350+ to a mechanic. Can my husband fix this? What shoud he test for? How do you take the door panel off?
2006 chrysler town and country passenger side window suddenly stopped working.
other windows work, sliding doors work as does rear hatchback.
fuses seem to be good.
might there be a safety switch that somehow got pushed that keeps the passenger window from opening?

I need to recharge my air condition on 2006 town & country van. Where is the low side located?
UNLESS YOU HAVE A MACHINE TO RECHARGE THE A/C THEN DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PLAY WITH A VERY DANGEROUS SYSYEM. This is a specialised piece of kit and without the right machine to do the job you could end up with serious injuries

The fan on our 2006 town and country minivan will stay on indefinitely after I turn off the ignition and remove the key. Left it going today while at the doctor's office and came back out to a dead battery. I believe I most likely need to replace radiator fan relay (or maybe it could be something else?). I'd like to do this myself to avoid getting gouged at the repair shop or dealer. Is it fairly easy to replace and where exactly is it located? Any help is much appreciated! Thank you.
I replaced mine yesterday (9/20/10) on my 05 chrysler town and counrty 3.3l.
Same situation - the fan ran on its own without the keys in and when the van was cold - def the fan relay.
This is what you do: First of all - the part sold at Advance auto is not the correct part. Auto Zone has the right part - it is much larger than the one sold at Advance and has the "pin cusion" top. The other one will NOT work at all.
There is no need to take out the head light or remove the bumper fascia - the relay is located on the top portion the of bumber cross bar, directly behind the rubber grill. The grill is easily removed - take out the 5 screws on top and carefully pull out the tabs holding the grill to the front end skin. You will see the relay right there - its huge!
I drilled out the large rivet holding it in place and then disconnected it. I then shifted (rotated) the new part in order to avoid the massive hole that the rivet was in and used a self tapping metal screw to afix the new relay in place. Reconnect the harness and you are good to go.
The total job took less than 15 minutes.
If you still see the engine light on - remove the ground wire on your battery for a few seconds and when you re-attach the battery - the light will be gone. Fixed!

Hi.
DTC P0480 is normally given by radiator fan relay. Replace the fan relay located near to the radiator. There is also a service bulletin about the error being prompted in snow condition. The bulletin advice to re-program the ECU.Here the bulletin.

Does my 2006 chrysler town and country minevan 3.3L: have a timing belt or chain? When to replace?
The 3.3 litre engine has a timing chain. No recommended change interval. Around 90k i would consider replacement because they will wear and stretch.

My town and country is making a loud humming noise
It all depends if the humming sound comes from the engine or the transmission. Check the idler bearings, the water pump bearings or the belt.
also if there is fault on the alternator or AC pulley there can be humming.
finally if the noise is heard while the car moves , then check on wheel bearings and axle ends .
