Hello Sandra,
Mark this as
URGENT (& expensive (labor)).
(and expect
your mechanic to take it seriously (
U 2)).
Get in contact with your mechanics licensing agent and start taking good notes...
You will need SPECIFICS (like:
what hose)...
Ultimate loss of coolant means
LOSS OF ENGINE...!!
You have me at a bit of a disadvantage with "kangerooing"
but if I am understanding anything... (we didn't see them a lot here in California).
It is likely that a MECHANIC with more muscle than brains between the ears could have done several things that would cause interior steaming (all bad)... and enough to fog the interior EVEN IN THE WINTER... is highly PROBLEMATIC...
At this point taking it BACK to that same CLOWN...
has obvious issues on all fronts.. I'm thinking at least your "MECHANIC" was changing a HEATER HOSE "bozo" may have ripped on of the pipes at the
heater core... ($29 USA)

causing a leak (feel the carpet and check your fluid levels
(hopefully I'm wrong))... but this is easy to prove with a cooling system pressure tester... VERY EASY (see Stant below)..
As to the air-flow issues... It is hard to imagine
they are another issue... but NOT hard to believe.
My average with
CHRYSLER Dealer repairs here
(Fred R Nichols Dodge, San Francisco = FIX One BREAK TWO (my brand spanking new '69 Charger...
(a
long while ago))... but some things ESPECIALLY water leaks, do NOT get better with time...
Hence URGENT.
From you "kangarooing" comment I'm thinking you are
still in your WARM SEASON... it is only going to get worse going into winter
