My xenon headlights on my 99 Audi A6 don't always
I recently tried the DIY service and repair manuals from a website and it actually helped me repair transmission problem in my jcb 3cx site-master. It would'nt move forward or reverse, engine was good both solenoids for forward and reverse worked, but still couldn't diagnose the problem.
I don't have much technical knowledge but I just followed it step-wise, and now it works perfect!
covers wiring, codes, diagrams, torque specs, PCV, everything

Audi A6 1999 airbag light is on , how do I get it off?
The first thing to do is have the Airbag system scanned for fault codes. The code will point you to the problem. Have you had any front end damage repaired recently? If so check the wiring and/or the impact sensor. If no codes are found, replace the clock spring under the steering wheel, following all appropriate safety instructions.

1999 Audi A6 gear shift not moving, even with break applied
The lock shift solenoid that works withe break pedal has gone bad... it's located next to or In front of the shifter.. on some vehicles. You have a key slot that you can use another key or small screw driver in it to unlock the shifter. Just replace that and it should be fine..

My audi A4 radio will not turn on. its almost
In back side of the radio, (for Audi A4, A6 - year 1999), you will find a blowed fuse = 10A (red colour). Replace it and that's all. Also:
IMPORTANT NOTE: You must have the security anti-theft code for yours Audi Concert radio from the car manufacturer! For Audi Concert the sequence of programming is:
1. Push simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys until on the screen will appear "1000" displayed.
2. Release keys. No more push on "SCAN" and "RDS" keys because otherwise number "1000" will be considered as first safe code attempt.
3. By the #1 key you will set up the first safe code digit.
4. By the #2 key you will set up the second safe code digit.
5. By the #3 key you will set up the third safe code digit.
6. By the #4 key you will set up the four-th safe code digit.
7. Then push again simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys for confirm this safe code. On the screen will be displayed "SAFE" notice. Release keys! For few seconds a radio frequence will be displayed. The radio is now ready for use!

2.5l tdi. Why won't it start?
possible
but I would be having a load test on the battery as the indications are that there is a bad cell or dirty/loose terminals

Audi a6 broken timing chain
Any specularion on amount of damage is pointless, you need ro take the head off and inspect pisons and valves. The valves may appear ok but if contact has been made with a piston, you will know this by obseving pitting on the top of the piston where the valve has hit, will probably mean bent valves.
There is a second point, I do not know if this is a safe or an interference engine.
If it is a safe engine the valves will not overlap with the pistons at any point, they will not occupy the same space at any point in the combustion cycle so there will be no damage in this eventuality.
Safe engines are, however, few.
I might obtain a used head from a breaker is there is too much valve damage.
