How to change a 1999 Audi a6 alternator
Changing the alternator itself is the easiest of tasks on the A6. It's getting to it that is a problem. Here is how.Disconnect the headlight connections the remove the headlamps.Disconnect the water hoses between engine and radiator.Remove transmission cooler pipes from radiator. (You have to plug these somehow to prevent loss of ATF and dirt contamination)Remove spot light covers from bumper. Look under there and you will see 2 alled bolts fixing the bumper to the chassis. Undo these.Next remove the bumper bolts on the fenders whichn yo can only reach through the headlight holes.Ease out the grille and disconnect any wiring that could be strained especially the one on the radiator lower hose.Pull the right side of tf the bumper out more to see the alternator. You do not have to remove air con pipes, just un-hook any hangers. You need a 17mm socket and power bar to remove the serpentine belt then you undo the 2 bolts attaching alternator to motor and the 2 elecric cables to the alternator.

Left front wheel shaking
Make sure your tire is inflated properly. Jack the car up and spin the tire and check that you don't have a bent wheel. after that bring it in to a tire shop and have them pull the wheel off and put it on their balancing machine. It may be out of balance or have a broken belt in the tire

Missfired
It's possible the broken muffler could cause a misfire. Your engine is expecting a certain amount of back pressure from the exhaust. If that back pressure isn't there things may not ignite properly. It's also possible that the hole is messing with the expected gas ratio in the exhaust and the emissions control system is trying to correct it by changing the fuel/air mixture and causing a misfire.

Audi A6 anti theft, car won't start
The biggest problem with intermittent problems is getting them to occur. It seems that your trouble is sticking around, and maybe you need to just give in and have it flat-bedded to an Audi shop(hopefully the ride on the truck will be gentle enough that the trouble won't clear itself).

99 audi a6 2.4 oil light and abs flashes, rev counter stops working and auto box malfunctions.
is it just the instruments that are acting up? if so thats probably a bad connection somewhere that, when in a certain temperature zone, say from 90 degrees to 130 for example, doesnt have enough current but when heated, regains the current. but if you mean "auto box malfunctions" as in your automatic transmission does not work, then its time to have some pros take a look at it.

My 99 audi a6 wen i start the car it wont stay on
The
following are the general instructions on the start of diagnosing any
electronically controlled engine or transmission problem.
The
engine and the automatic transmission (transmission control is only
for automatics, engine is still computer controlled no matter the
transmission type) in this vehicle are computer controlled and in
most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory
of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as
the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done
is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system
for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for
engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained
technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then
based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the
correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer
replaced (known as the PCM), which is very rarely the problem. Other
basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical problems with
the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage on the engine.
The transmission can have mechanical issues as well such as no gear
engagement at all or a failed pump or other pressure related
problems.
