the switch that shuts off the dome light and chime is part of the door latch and is broken

I have a 1995 ford escort with only 130 000 km the car is in pretty good shape except for the idle of the car , when you first start it it runs high at a fast idle and than goes low again when driving it seems to want to stall out unless you keep the foot on the peddle and hints on this problem
idles so low at traffic lights you have to give it gas
The IAC valve is usually the problem with the 1.9 Escorts ,causing a very poor engine idle at a stop. It is located on the side of the throttle body .

1999 Ford F150, Charging system. Light continues to illuminate requiring electrical system service. replaced altenator. But continues to kill battery. Loss of all electrical power. What could be the problem? recharge battery, charge light glows, needle on rev counter does not move, car runs for a short time, will not restart.
Your battery may not be holding its charge. Charge the battery and take a voltage reading. Then after a few hours take another reading andsee if the voltage has dropped. If that is alright, refit the battery to the car. turn off all the electrics anddo a voltage test. If the battery is discharging then ou will have to find what componant is drawing the voltage. I normally check the boot through the rear seats first.

After replacing valve cover gasket with fel-pro dry gasket(No RTV needed) I still have a leak in the same spot( Driver side corner) from cover. What to do?
Your new gasket has tabs that make it easy to set in place; the tabs hold the position properly on the cylinder head. The gasket also has the rubber coating to establish a tight seal between the cylinder head and the the valve cover, even if there is slight damage or warping. Proper torque for the valve cover bolts is between 50-100 in-lbs., which is about 8 ft-lbs for a maximum.
If you have the gasket properly set, and proper torque on the valve cover bolts, you should not leak.
If you still experience a leak after double checking the gasket and the bolt torque, I would replace the valve cover itself. You will find several at most any salvage yard, and probablly will cost you $10.00 or less for a used valve cover.
I hope this helps you, and I wish you luck on your repair.

1993 Escort, 1.9 liter motor, automatic transmission with 80,000 miles. The motor randomly stalls, most of the time it stalls after several minutes at idle, sitting in park in the driveway or after several minutes stopped at a red light. I have tested the O2, IAC, and IAT sensors. Inspected and cleaned cam and crank location sensors, MAF, coolant temp sensor, and the TPS. I also inspected all vacuum lines and, disconnected and plugged each, one at a time and all together. No of this has had an effect, the car will suddenly and unexpected stall. I have seen many similar descriptions but few concrete resolutions.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
I don't have the solution, but I have the same exact problem on my 1991 Escort 1.9L with auto with 120K miles. I replaced the IAC with no difference. In fact I unplugged it, and still had the random stalling. Also disconnected the EGR vacuum line...still stalled randomly. After it stalls it always starts right back up again. Sometimes it will act as if it's going to stall, but comes back to normal idle. Park or Drive makes no difference. Acceleration and all normal driving is fine. The next thing I was going to try is hooking up a timing light and watch to see if the timing light stops flashing as it's stalling, and/or hooking up a fuel pressure gauge somehow, to the fuel rail, to see if the pressure drops when stalling....to figure out if its ignition or fuel related.

AS FAR AS A STEP-BY-STEP:
This type forum to answer that question would literally take dozens of pages. I would strongly suggest you purchase a Haynes or Chilton Manual available at most auto parts stores. You will need the Torque Specifications for each and every Bolt and Nut involved.
Let me know if this helped.

when i push my clutch pedal down the starter engages, what is the cause of this?
Hi!!
The clutch switch is designed to prevent vehicle from accidentally engage the starter unless the clutch pedal is depressed. (It is the equivalent to the Neutral Safety Switch for automatic transmissions.)
Pressing the clutch pedal by itself will NOT activate the starter unless the key is in the RUN position.
Check your ignition switch. it may be stuck on RUN.
Don't forget to rate this post. Good Luck!!
