My girlfriend has a 1993 ford escort wagon, 1.9 L
first was she using the air conditioner at the time. and to reset the computer unhook the battery for about 15 to 20 minutes. try to start it then. if the radio is of the anti-theft variety make sure you know the code and how to enter it before you unhook the battery.
Won't shift into gear
If it is automatic I would suspect something wrong with the transmission if it is manual you may hove just burned the clutch out if you have been starting it or driving it in the wrong gear
Horn
Need to test wiring to horn. Need a test light .unplug horn and put test light to the 2 wires and press horn to see if it lights up.if there is only 1 wire at horn ,hook one head to the cars negative battery and one end to the horn and press horn pad at steering column to see if it lights.if it lights up then horn is no good

Could be a "Cam Phaser" problem. Look up this subject for your vehicle for extensive information.If your engine is a dual cam engine, the timing mechanisms were problematic. Each side of the engine has 1 mechanism and they can be changed independently. Even a shortcut repair is expensive.To sum it up, the shortcut method works quite well, but takes a special tool which may not be available for loan from the major autoparts stores.Skill is involved in using this tool.The Phasar is an automatic adjuster for each timing chain. It is possible that the chain did NOT jump, but that the Phaser stuck. Visual inspection is the only way to tell which side.In general, if the engine makes noise like a diesel and the noise goes away above 2000rpm, it is a bad phaser.
Removing half shafts
if it not comes out and you do not want to destroy anything, look for the clamp inside. ( you can only see the ends, looking like I I )Clean the cv from grease, look from gearbox to wheelside around the shaft. in a small bay you can see a clamp, looking like two I I place a screwdriver or a needle nose plier in the middle and turn it to move the I I ´s apart. then you can easy pull the cv.

heater core cloged, get car hot check heaterhose going into heatercore should be two inch thick hoses going into the heatercore, underhood against firewall pasenger side, after hot while running heater on, chech to see if both hoses r hot, if one is cold,that means there is a restriction in the heatercore, sometimes on older cars there is a external valve run by a vaccume hose, or cable, thats fixed in with the heater hoses , sometimes this valve jams and can be manually switched.
Clutch shifts into gear fine
There are only tow possibilities here, one the clutch plate is worn out, the other is the main shaft that the clutch plate moves is broken, I would go with the clutch and pressure plate being defective, in any case the transmission must come out to check the cause of the problem..
