Trunk leaks floorboads wet
The boot lid gasket may not be sealing correctly or worse, the rear window may have a leak and allowing water straight into the boot. Remove the carpet etc and any drain plugs from your boot floor until its fixed otherwise, you will end up with a rust problem if it doesn't drain and dry out.
Mi dodge neon oil light goes on and off. i checked
IT CAN BE ANY OF THE ABOVE AND ALSO A DEFECTUVE OIL PRESSURE SENDER ON THE ENGINE, HAVE THE OIL PRESS TESTED WITH A MECHANICAL TEST GAUGE BY A SHOP, IF IT IS OK REPLACE THE SENDER FOR THE OIL PRESS LIGHT.
Where do you check the fuel pressure
The Neon don't have fuel gauge port. And is expensive to buy the right adapter. Your mechanic will have the right adapter. Disconnect the supply line and connect adapter . Turn ignition ON and check for leack. You need 58psi.pressure
Good luck
Why does my 2005 neon make no sound when the key is turned?
all the neon I have seen have way to small battery cables and ground wires. We had this issue with our neon. Replace both ground to engine block and battery to starter cables , and terminal ends with heavy duty ones . and add a heavy duty ground cable from battery to body. this will permit the charging / starting systems to work with greater efficiency.
My 2005 dodge neon sxt will start but it shuts off right after it starts even if i hold the gas pedal down
I post this as a serious answer.... As simple as this might sound, but are you using a spare key in the ignition that's not chipped, by chance?? This sounds like what the car will do if you attempt to use a key without the security chip (I know bc I had to try it one time to see what it would do.). But, if you are, and if you've tried more than such a number of times, it will lock out the computer and the dealer will have to reprogram it for you.
Otherwise, if it's a mechanical problem, good luck, I'm not sure what that may be, offhand.
I have no spark to or from coil
Hi Rick, I'm glad to help! Rick, the PCM which is the Engine Controller must see a signal from the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft position sensor before it will energize the ASD which is the Auto-Shut-Down-Relay. Which when energized then activates the spark to the coil pack. NOTE: Let's say the PCM is seeing the signal and is energizing the ASD but nothing is happening. If thats the case? FIRST: Try switching the ASD relay with another one just like it and see if it starts. If it doesn't, check every fuse under the hood and inside the vehicle. If they are all good. Then make sure there is power coming from the ignition switch to the ASD relay. Turn the key to the start position and see if the test light lights up. If it does then Replace the "Crank Sensor" first and see if it starts. If it still doesn't start then Replace the "Cam Sensor" If it still doesn't start. Then your into either a wiring problem somewhere or the PCM is bad. CAUTION: You must check every other possibility before replacing the PCM, because its very expensive. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Rick.
