Theft light comes on while driving then engine dies also at stops car starts after dying
Battery condition? Charging system? if neither I'd start looking for some bad connections. Corrosion does some funny things.
Electrical problem are hard to sort out. Did you have it worked on recently? Did it start doing this soon after the work was done?
If so take it back. Some wiring may have been disturbed. It may be a "heavy" wire that moves forward when you stop and allows the engine to start again. Almost sounds like the starter is not properly tight. and moving around to cause this. Double check.
Rear brakes locked up replaced brake shoes recently
Hi, I'm AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair in St Charles Mo
I look forward to helping you with your problem.
FIRST: If your rear brakes are drum brakes, then most likely the E-Brake is corroded and sticking. You'll need to lube it and free it up. SECOND: If your rear brakes are disc brakes. Two things could be happening. (1) If you did not clean the area where the pads slide back and forth then the pads could be sticking in place. (2) The caliper could be sticking or the hoses or lines could be restricted and cause the calipers not to release. Here's how you see which problem you have. Jack up the vehicle so the wheel is off the ground and try turning it by hand if it will not turn take a wrench and crack open the brake link going to the caliper and see if the wheel turns. If it still will not turn then you need a caliper. BUT, if it does turn then you need the hoses. If you need further assistance click here:

Key goes in on passenger side and turns but wont unlo k or lock
Three things, the actual motor that controls the lock and unlock may be jammed. The actual hinge on the door itself may be sticking, (this car is known for it). And the mechanism that is attached to the lock and motor itself. I've replaced the entire motor and such and it fixed it for a little while. But it just kept happening. I just learned to live with it.

do u have a garage and if so , around dust is the best time.pull your ford in front of the garage door about 8 to 10 feet with your lights on, pop your hood and on top of your headlamps you should see adjusters ,you can see witch way they are facing adjust them facing straight ahead
At cold start my rpm goes to 2k then to zero and stalls during driving the rpm will rise to1k or more
My '04 Taurus did the same thing a while back and it was due to a baked O-Ring that seals the intake manifold runner control to the manifold. Google; Intake Manifold Runner Control O-Ring 2001 Ford Taurus. Those O-Rings are available at Ford ($11) or a Harbor Freight Tools for around $1. If you wanna cheat on the job (don't tell anyone I told you this!) just clean all around the control on the right rear of your manifold, then glop on some silicone sealer all around it where it mounts to the manifold and give it a few hours to dry.
Car will not charge
Usually the car has an ac alternator with a built in rectifier ,so if u have good hands replacing rectifier will cost u maybe 15$ and new alternator maybe 150$ or more
2001 ford Taurus code P1633 what does it mean and how do I fix it ?
P1633 - Keep Alive Power Voltage Too Low
Indicates that the Keep Alive Power (KAPWR) circuit has experienced a power interrupt.
Possible causes:
-Open KAPWR circuit.
-Damaged PCM.
-Intermittent KAPWR Circuit.
First thing would be to check the fuse associated with the KAP. In your case, that would be fuse #22 (10A). If you're A/C doesn't work, then that's why. Usually the A/C clutch causes the fuse to blow and your get your P1633 code.
If the fuse is fine and the A/C works, then it might be a bad PCM. If the battery was bad before it might have set this code. Have you tried clearing the codes to see if it comes back or not?
How to replace passenger side window
1st off you need to take the door panel off that has 7 Phillips screws in it, Then you have to take off the door panel, unplug the electric mirror if you have it, power windows and speaker plug inside the door.. There is a sticky panel between the door and the door panel so be careful when you take it off so you can replace it.. It is a water barrier,, Now you can see inside the door and bring the window half way down.. In the bottom channel of the window you will see 2 plastic plugs with rivets in it. These have to be drilled out with a 3/8 drill bit. With a small punch and hammer these rivets will pop out.. Now you have the window free from the channel. You can bring out the window now thru the top.. Reverse the process when putting it back in and you will need to buy 2 bolts and nuts with washers to replace the rivets. You will be able to use the 2 plastic plugs over again if you follow what I say..
How do I change body control module on 2001 ford taurus
The BCM is located behind the glove box.Open Glove box, empty contents, grab sides of box and push inward a little bit and continue to open door. Once that's done there are 2 modules back there, #1 is ECM #2 is BCM, The BCM has a yellow clip on it and I think 5 connectors, make sure you mark down the location of where the connectors go for reassembly. Whatever you are doing make sure your BCM is the culprit because the BCM rarely ever goes bad on these cars.
What make a transmission jerks when you put it in
Testing your trans with a scanner will be required as your trans is electronically controlled, you could also have a engine missfire and this could possibly feel like the transmission jerking. Once again testing will a capable scanner will be required to determine any engine electronic faults.
