Fuel pressure for your 2000 Excursion is 35-45psi with key on and engine off, with engine running the fuel pressure should be 28-45psi

if starter and solenoid okay,could be starter relay or weak battery check battery volts should be 12.5 volts,could have problems with PATS SECURILOCK THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM, HAVE VECHICLE CODE SCAN FIRST BEFORE BUYING NEW PARTS.

never heard of this for a long while but some old trucks had a heating system to prevent the fuel from freezing so check for this failing which then a fault with a cylinder head if a indirect injection system called a ricado head where a seperate combustion is contained within the head ,or someone has put diesel in the rad thinking it was antifreeze especially if of irish origin

Hi Jim, the problem is that the fuel gauge sending unit is the part of the fuel pump and it is a costly repair.

Could have a leaking injector. Or fuel line with a small hole or crack,

driver's side kick panel beside the parking brake pedal.

Check for spark. If you have spark, you could have a fuel delivery issue.
