Paint on excursion
Our firm licensed the patented technology that Ford used for their paint durability analysis of the Ford Excursion. The issue with most Excursions is paint applied below Ford's minimum paint thickness specifications that should not have been released to the market. Conusmers have been active and in 10 states have taken action in Small Claims Court or outside of it and the results have been that Ford has compensated the owners. We have published Ford's lack of compliance about later years Excursion on page 118 in our research publication:

2000 FORD EXCURSION POWER STEERING
How does the hydro boost fell "funny" - does the brake pedal go to the floor? Do the brakes lock up? engage immediatly? Does the brake light stay on, come on while brakes are applied? Have a diagnostics test done on it at a local auto parts store (usually a free service; stores may vary) and see if any codes show up. If so, the person submitting the test can tell you what the code(s) mean, and what to do to fix the problem.

Door ajar light
I found that when I opened the right rear door several times I could get the problem to clear. Once I got the problem to clear I tired to keep any one from using that door. Once they forgot and opened that door again I was back in trouble again! I finely replaced the switch in that door and problem was corrected. Wish you luck this can drive you crazy..

How do I reset my combo locks on a 2000 excursion.
Under the dash about dead center there is I believe a silver colored box that should have a tag on it with the digits for the door locks. I found it one time out of curiousity, and also on my 05 f250 but forgot to write it down. It is a pain to get to, but if you lay on drivers floor board, and look up almost behind the radio it can be found

2000 ford excursion cruise control will not work
check vacuum lines also i believe this vehicle has an electric vacuum pump on the passenger side fender [ in engine compartment] you should see a black ball/canister with lines that go to the pump . if not will still have a canister and lines that run to the intake manifold , or could just be as simple as a fuse

The spark plug will not screw in it seems like the
Quick Tip. Take one old spark plug and saw an X across the threads on the bottom with your hacksaw. Clean away the filings. Oil it and thread it into the spark plug hole. This is called re tapping. Then try the new plug again. Has worked many times for me.
