the open door light is on permanently on my dashboard (Ford Puma 2000). Ive opened each door (one at a time) and checked the button/switch towards the front of the door but it remains on all the time. My interior light goes on & off as expected with both doors (not sure if thats operated by the same switch mind you).
The contacts of the sensor to the Door can be dirty. Thus it can't sense the door properly and remarking open. Also there is a solenoid behind the Door which can be defective which can cause the problem. Kindly call a technician and check the parts.
Thank you Sir, Have a nice day.

Hi!!
Here are 3 diagrams that correspond to the 3 engines types available for your vehicle.

2000 ford escort ZX2 with P0171 trouble code. Cleaned MAF, replaced MAF, replaced vacuum lines, replaced upstream o2 sensor. No change. Any ideas?
I am working on the same problem. This 2000 ZX2 was idling rough and throwing a p171 code (bank 1 too lean). I hooked up a scanner to the OBDII port and you could see the O2 sensor at 0 or very low voltage and not switching and the fuel compensation maxed out which indicates a lean condition. Using a flammable Carb cleaner and the engine running I sprayed around the vacuum hoses until the idle picked up. I found a rubber elbow that connects to the bottom of the intake maniflold and feeds vacuum to the PCV valve. Replacing the the elbow with a suitable replacment from the auto part misc parts cards display had it running smoothly and the O2 sensor switching properly. Since this was happening at idle it was not the fuel filter which can cause a lean condition in upper rpms. It is not the MAF or the O2 sensor since it switches when not at idle. Also check the smaller vacuum lines that go to the evap control from the intake vacuum ports (back of manifold just below the throttlebody, most will be cracking if your car is anything like mine. I have also seen this problem with a bad PCV valve.

where is the ac port for recharge 2000 ford escort
Find the ac compressor, and look at the ac lines coming from the ac compressor, then just follow the large ac line until you come to the low side service port, this is where you will connect to,to charge the ac system. If this was at all helpful, please rate, and thank you,

i need to find the location of the engine coolant temperature sensor on my 2000 ford escort zx2.
Automobiles: 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 4-cylinder 2.0L MFI DOHC
NOTE
The "left" side of the engine is the driver's side.
The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor is a thermistor (a device which changes resistance or voltage as temperature changes). The sensor detects the temperature of engine coolant and provides a corresponding signal to the PCM (Powertrain Control Module - aka "the car's computer").
The ECT sensor is mounted in the following locations (small Ford engines):
1.8L engines: in the cylinder head
1.9L engines: threaded into the heater hose inlet pipe
2.0L engines: at the left rear of the engine
2.0L Zetec Engine
(1) Partially drain the engine cooling system using a clean container. If coolant is in good condition, retain for reuse.
(2) Disconnect the battery ground cable.
(3) Disconnect the electrical wiring connector from the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor.
(4) Remove the retaining clip and the ECT sensor.
Fig. 1 Escort ZX2 ECT sensor - The retaining clip is removed (at the solid arrow). Withdraw ECT sensor by gently wiggling/pulling in the direction of the dashed arrow.
To install:
NOTE
Coat the ECT sensor O-ring with clean coolant prior to installation.
(1) Replace the retaining clip and the ECT sensor.
(2) Connect the electrical wiring connector from the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.
(3) Connect the battery ground cable.
(4) Refill the engine cooling system. An inexpensive plastic "Radiator Funnel" will help with this task.

stuck in 3rd gear while driving, but will shift to any gear when it's shut off??
In most cases you shouldn't skip gears, but sometimes you can. Use 3rd gear to merge onto the freeway and go directly to 5th! http://www.xcardiag.com/wholesale/best-quality-gm-tech2-gm-diagnostic-scanner-works-for-gm-saab-opel-suzuki-isuzu-holden-50.html
