The PATS - passive anti-theft system light does not flash codes . Your best bet is to have your vehicle towed to a qualified repair shop or have a lock smith come fix it . You don't have the knowledge or tools to fix this problem, The factory Passive Anti Theft System (PATS) has been activated.If the light is blinking fast, it means that the key is no longer recognized. If you have another key try that one. If not, you will have to call a locksmith or have it towed to a Ford dealer. Worst case you will need a new key. Make sure you get a spare. The first thing to do, in just about all cases on a modern vehicle, is to scan the computers. they have lots of software that is designed to help you figure out what the problem is and there are literally thousands of trouble codes that trigger when some part of a system is failing. the people at auto zone are not trained technicians. it is like asking a clerk at a **** store to treat an illness. take your Ford or tow it to a sharp shop that knows how to do electronic/computer/anti-theft diagnosis, or you will just be wasting your time and money Good Luck!

replace the sub frame this job is very difficult if you dont have proper tools to do the job if you want details let me know

not sure on 01 but on 03 it is on the back drivers fender panel.

replace the front control module. its just behind the fuse box under the drivers side dash.

check your fuse box under the hood for supply fuses

I've had this before u need too unconnect the battery and take clamps off ur pos and net and regather the wires tighten them and put back on battery

P-0731= incorrect gear ratio, first check your fluid is it burnt/dk brown in color??? if it is your in need of a trans, or overhaul....due to the amount of up-date required on yours an exchange is a better choice.....GL.......

sounds like a large vacuum hose was knocked off the engine when they pulled the trans out, have that checked.

u need to get a workshop manual for your car just Google 1999 Ford Windstar workshop manual.download it this will show u what to do and tell you the part numbers u need to buy new one.

cable should pop off..or you have linkage...?..chiltons auto manual will tell you.

When the anti theft system was created,the dealers forgot to tell the new car buyers about how much the fob matters to the vehicle,without it,owners are stuck,your anti theft device is activated,you need to lock and unlock your doors a couple times with the key fob,not the key,and then you need to put the key in the ignition and start it,if you dont have your key fob,call your car dealer to get a new one,they are programmed for each car only,you cannot bypass it.if you lost your fob or never had it,whatever,you need to have the exact fob that came with that car from the factory,the key and fob have a chip in them that only go to that certain car,if you do not have it,then you need to buy a new one from the dealer or ebay and then you need to contact your dealer about programming the fob to your car,you might not have to have it towed if they have the documents from the car,the only other way is to get a junk car,with the steering column,key,fob and all computer boxes and door locks and switch them,i just did that with a 98 dodge dakota,and it works.
