Where can i find the timing marks on 1998 ford escort zx2 ?
Hello pamgolmon: My name is Roger and i will answer your question. The 2-0 dual cam engine is a interference engine. This means if the engine jumps time at the timing belt. It will bend the valves. As for the timing marks on the camshafts. Their are no marks to be located. To set the timing marks on this engine requires special tools. This makes it expensive for not only the do it yourself mechanic but also the repair shops also. If the valves were bent you must pull the head for the repairs also.
I know this is not the answer you were hoping for but it is the only answer to give. Please rate the quality of the answer as this way we know your answer was correct. Please just ask if you need further help. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

Disconnect your air mass sensor. It monitors the cleanlyness of your air filter. Test drive the car. If the symptoms went away, replace your air flow sensor assembly. It's pretty pricy, about $80. You can drive your car with the air flow sensor quick harness disconnected until you can afford to buy the sensor.

Blower motor not working
Buy one from salvage and replace it. Most are easy to pull off, often held in place by 3 medium sized screws. Also buy a new resistor pack for the heater circuit. About $10 or $15. That should give you back all speeds on the blower. To find it, just follow the wire from the blower connector back towards the blower switch. It should be close to the blower motor and under the dash, and screwed into the heater case where it can be cooled by air blowing through the heater case.
