There should only be two bolts holding it on all u have to do is disconnect the power wire then the ground wire and take the rwo bolts off and you should be fine.
If when u start the install of the new starter and the bolts are having a hard time lining up you can get a scissor jack to push it up in just the right spot. Also whenever your working with electricity disconnect the battery

Charging problem

So you think you could hear the starter spin but the "band" did not turn? I suppose you mean the serpentine belt did not turn. It is quite possible for the starter to spin but the bendix to fail to engage the flywheel. This can be caused by low battery charge, bad battery connections, or more commonly, a bad starter.

First you will need a helper to remove the hood then locate all bolts mounting the fender to the cab of the car there are many of them! You will need to remove the lights and disconnect the wires to the turn lamps! Being cautious so you don't break any wires!

I know you had a transmission installed but did you get the tourque converter as well as the transmission ... not all transmission shops will do a great job you need to find someone reliable you can trust ... personal opinion says find an older white guy thats been doing it for years worked well for me

This is what I did on my 99 Grand Marquis. Maybe it will work for you. 1. Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 4 times within 3 seconds, with the 4th time ending in RUN. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming mode. 2. Within 20 seconds, press any button on first keyless remote. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming. 3. Within 20 seconds press any button on second keyless remote. Door locks will cylcle to confirm programming. 4. Turn ignition to OFF.

Do you have an owners manual? Your manual should give the fuse box ID. Should be in underhood power distribution center. Click on the link, number 2 at the bottom. Check both battery terminels for corrosion and that they are tight, check earth to bodywork, also check earth from engine to bodywork.

Try checking interior lights,boot/bonnet lamps radio it seem's like something is draining battery supply only a small draw will nacker the battery.

Could be a sticking door switch. Could try spraying door latches liberally with WD40 and open and shut each door one at a time several times to see if light goes out

I would suggest installing a new flasher module.Not sure of the location.Should be near the fuse panel.

have you tried wiping the codes and see if they return ? if so i'd think it's a circuitry issue , was the tranny a match by year etc ?this is the problem with used parts , don't know if they had any problems before fitting , best of luck tracing fault , keep me posted if you wish
