The second fuse box is located in the engine compartment on the drivers side close the the headlamp.The exact fuse should be etched on the fuse box lid, on the top or inside the lid. If not, it will be in the owner's manual.

If you remove the interior light fuse just to turn it off and to turn off the dinging noise then for sure this will drive you nuts, That fuse is part of the shift interlock,what this mean you wont be able to get the car out of park.That interior light and ding is part of the GEM module so you have to fix the problem,in the driver door panel part of the door lock assemble is the switch,either you disconnect that switch or you replace the switch.

Just about all you can do is check the transmission fluid level and condition. Unless the fluid is low its going to need another transmission or rebuild. Especially if you never serviced it or have gone too far between services.

sounds like the motor for the driver side door is either burnt or the connections are loose or corroded. i would remove the sdoor panel and inspect the motor and its connections

your fuse box will be located by the drivers side kick panel, under the dash ,, its the same with most Fords, also for higher amp fuses they have a fuse box under the hood ,,if you have the manual, it will show locations for each fuse, if not the dealer can print one out for you in the parts dept,, they are usually free

Your Windstar's tail lights are controlled by the Rear Control Module. Failure of the rear module is common. You can find the module just inside the liftgate on the right (passenger) side of the vehicle. Remove he cover for the jack equipment in the right quarter trim panel and look inside. You will see the module in there. I hae had some luck finding good used modules in the salvage yard. (Definitely NOT one of Ford's better ideas!)
