My 1991 Ford F150 won't idle when

Did you also change the Coolant Temperature Sensor? If it is reading wrong, the computer may not realize the engine is cold, and won't increase the gas for that. Spray some carb cleaner around the outside of the throttle shaft, if engine speed increases, that could be a vacuum leak. I've never heard of that, but anything is possible. It sounds like it would have to be a serious air or vacuum leak to cause your problem. Have you blocked off the power brake booster to check if that is leaking? You might want to do a compression test to see if there is any internal mechanical damage.

91 F150 I drive 17 miles or so and it as if some one turned the key off you can turn the key off an back on and it drives go farther driving makes it do it often then not

You need to figure out what the engine looses when it dies. If it looses spark at the plugs I suggest looking to the ignition module, and if it looses fuel I would look at the fuel pump or the relay. It could also bee a poor ground loosing connection when it heats up too though.

1991 f150 starts but must hold key on to stay running i turned key on and off atleast 100 times to rid my tank of bad gas also i'am running off my battery

It sounds like you need to replace the ignition starter switch, the symptom you have is an exact fit, most models of Ford where recalled years ago for this problem.. The starter switch is at the base of the steering column under the dash and operated by a rod from the ignition key tumbler. Very cheap and easy to replace.
