Replacing ignition switch in 2001 chevy silverado

Not the igniton switch, its the ingition cylinder and or the housing. The switch is not part of what you are really turning. It's connected to it via gears. The common problem is the key gets worn out and the tumblers wear also. Eventualy they do not line up right and will not make the "bar" drop in the cylinder to allow it to turn from the off positon. If you have the title in your name and the key has never been rekeyed or the code has been changed you can go down to a dealership with all of the info for the truck and they can cut you a key from the vin number. You can try that first before you put a cylinder and housing in it.

Brake pedal is intermittent spongey on my 2005 silver ado Z71

One of two issues are typical. Either a bad wheel cylinder(s), or a bad Master Cylinder. The sponginess is caused by air or some other contaminant in the hydraulic fluid. It's intermittent because the more often you use the brakes, the hydraulic pressure is built up. If you pump the brakes before stopping, the sponginess will be less. Check all brake cylinders, and Master Cylinder, and possibly a complete Brake system fluid flush.

What is the easiest way to tell if your timing chain jumped a tooth

I highly doubt it, those days are long gone. You would have a check engine light if it were running that poorly.

Installed new oxygen sensors but light is still on

You need to clear the check engine light with a scanner. If you clear it and light comes back on check for a new code number. If you bought your parts locally the parts store should scan/clear your codes for free.

I need to replace rear axel on 2001 chevy silverado 1500

jack up the rear end high and place chassis rails on stands. Remove wheels . disconnect brake hose to the rear and use a hose pincher to stop brake fluid leaking out . Disconnect the hand brake cable at a convenient point ( probably at the rear of the transmission. Disconnect the drive shaft at the diff pinion and lay to one side . Place the jack under the diff housing centre and take a bit of weight. . If you have leaf springs --undo the "U" bolts around the housing . If coil springs undo the track rods by removing all the pivot bush bolts. Lower the diff housing down and pull out from under the car. Make any changes you have to, to the other diff housing before placing it on the jack and placing it under the car Reassembly is the reverse process of removal.. Bleed rear brakes on completion of the job.
