Gear box filler plug
glue or weld the head of a bolt to it.then use two nuts on the bolt tighten both of them now a ring spanner on the first nut as is held by the second nut.
So I shouldn't change the fuel pump. Had the code test done twice and light came back on
I do not have enough information to make that statement but there is another problem that may cause the light, that is the fuel filter. these are normally a metal cylinder on the chassis area with a metal fuel line on each end, all fuel injected cars have one because they are a finer micron and higher pressure than plastic units can achieve, they are dearer but they do block up and are often hard to find on the car, In Australia 6 out of 10 fuel pumps are replaced when it is only the filter, this may or may not be your problem but it is a lot cheaper in cost and labour to try first
2005 nissan sentra check engine light
the blown head gasket most likely damaged the oxygen sensors, and this is the cause of the check engine light, have a Kragen auto or Auto zone do a trouble code test, it is free. the oxygen sensors will not cause anything but slight increase in fuel consumption and of course that irritating light in the dash..
While driving at freeway speeds, my car lost
Start with the battery and jumping the car. If it does not jump or starts and dies after removing the cables it's the alternator. The brushes go bad after a while which increases in high heat climates where it runs more due to the ac draw.
Big question is what did it do when it stopped? Did it just lose all electronic power? Stutter then stop? What did u try to do after it stopped? An incorrect jump could cause other issues
Transmission filter
There are screw extractors that require a specific size hole drilled in the exact center of screw and then using the exctractor, will bring screw out. Use care in drilling center of screw and remove ALL metal drilled out of screw.
2005 nissan sentra not starting
Always verify the easy to do, First using a small diameter phillips head screw driver, remove a spark plug wire and put the screwdriver up inside of the metal contact where the plug normally would make its connection. Place the screw driver around an inch away from the valve cover or any other ground. While not touching the screw driver crank the engine over and have a friend look for spark jumping from the screw driver to the grounded part. If indeed spark is present verify fuel level. Regardless of what the gauge says, put 5 gallons in the vehicle. Very easy to do (not so cheap to do now days) But fuel gauges read incorrectly all the time. If you have spark and it doesn't run after adding fuel we will have to verify its getting fuel. Fuel pump would be the next thing but lets verify spark to the the engine first. If indeed you do, take a second to pull a plug out and check its condtion.
