2005 Dodge Stratus - Page 5 Questions & Answers
Is there an anti-lock switch on my 2005 dodge stratus
Sorry Debi , It does not work like that ! If the engine computer doesn't receive a signal from the anti-theft system , it wont let the car start . Could disable fuel , ignition , an sometimes it wont let the car crank over , There are bypass kits you can by , need to google it for your car. Other wise you'll lock up the system an it won't work .
2005 Dodge stratus power windows
Less tan aceptable quality components were used by Chrysler on the Cloud cars (Stratus, Cirrus, Sebring) Much better iones were used in the previous Spirit, Reliant, LeBaron models. To help, you need to maintain clean all the window guides and cranck mecanism, properly lubricated and adjusted to reduce binding and sticking, which will burn out the cheap motors. Check proper voltage reaching the motors and very importantly, the ground return.

Thermostat was replaced and water got into oil
Hi valerie, but changing the thermostat DID NOT caused the problem, there was a serious engine overheat that damaged the head to engine block gasket and possibly deformed the aluminum head too. To repair, head needs to be checked for flatness and resurfaced if needed, and a new head gasket needs to be bought and installed. Needs to be an EXACT replacement,a s there are variations. good luck.
You NEED to use proper coolant-antifreeze in the proper concentration and diluted with demineralized water, and keep an eye on engine temperaturas when driving. Possibly, a radiator and water pump check and fix is needed too. Amclaussen.
All mywindowsdontwork
Less than good quality parts were used by Chrysler on the "Cloud cars" (Stratus, Cirrus etc.). In some conditions, the electric window motors are weaker, get dirty and get stuck. Sometimes, those can be serviced by using a penetrating oil like "WD-40" and cleaning. On other cases, the crank mechanism is what got dirty or the lubricant dried. Curiously, my much older 1991 Dodge Spirit still works perfectly, while my newer 2002 Stratus started to fail to actuate the electric Windows at less than 5 years from new, both in exactly the same conditions and parked in the same place...
