Where and how do you change freeze plugs
theyre located on the sides of the block, about the size of a silver dollar, pop the old ones out with a screw driver, install new with a soft rubber malet. drain eng. coolant first though as you will leak antifreeze once plugs are removed
My power steering is not working how do i track
first check the fluid level start engine and see if pump spins.
look inside of reservoir while running and see if fluid is churnig
if it spins and no fluid churning you most likely have a broken pump shaft
thats about all you can do at home besides guess unless you have the proper pressure guages
it can only really be two things other than fluid leaked out somewere
a bad pump or a bad power steering gear/rack
The fuel pump on my 1988 crown victoria runs
The fuel pump is supposed to run constantly when the engine is running. It is pumping fuel to the engine which is in constant need of fuel. It is starting when the ignition is turned on and then shuts down after a few seconds if you do not start the engine. This is exactly what it is supposed to do. You have no problem except for the pump being noisy. On a car that is 22 years old, I would suspect the fuel pump is failing and the noise you hear is it's death nil. Change the fuel filter and if the noise continues be prepared to have the pump replaced. It may fail suddenly or it may become hard to start. If you have never had it replaced just go ahead and do so, to prevent being stranded and a towing fee when it does fail.

How do i know if the fuel pump is working on my
You can tell if the fuel pump is working when you turn the car to the "on" position, not cranking it over, but just on, you should hear the pump prime.
Im not sure how hard they are to change however, if it's an in-tank filter, you need to drain, and drop the tank to change it.
1988 crown victoria 5.0liter engine, idles rough
Usually when there is a black, ashy coating on the spark plugs, this indicated that the engine is running rich. This can be caused by a few things, including a faulty coolant temperature sensor that may be indicating a cold engine when it's in fact warm. A bad oxygen sensor can also cause some engine enrichening as well. These are just a couple of things you may want to check.
Please let me know if you need any further assistance. :)
