I would check the shifter and the linkage. Even though the shifter lever is moving, that doesn't mean it's moving the linkage on the transmission.

Sounds like torque converter not disengaging on deceleration . If you have a 'check eng ' light on , have eng/trans codes pulled.

CHARGE THE BATT, CHECK FUSES AND RELAYS.IF NO PROBLEM FOUND REMOVE STARTER, INSPECT FLYWHEEL AND TEST STARTER.

You have to first test if you have 1) A spark 2) fuel. Try turning the engine over and check for the smell of fuel from the engine or exhaust. If you smell fuel then you may not have a spark. If it is a fuel problem it could be the fuel sender unit inside the tank. It could also be a bad ground or a broken wire going to the sender unit. Test one idea at a time until you narrow down what is not working.
