Headlight switch
Remove the front dash plate, and remove the switch. If im correct for the year, the switch "pulls" towards the driver, and has three positions. Off, parking lights, and headlights/all. This switch wears out over time, and it may be the problem. Look at it, and with the battery disconnected, prod around at the contact points and do a continuity test. Good luck!
Check engine light flashing
That could be many things, including, but not limited to, a loose wire, low oil, worn through vacuum line, etc. Can you provide more information? What are the symptoms. What type of engine do you have? These kind of details are important in figuring out your problem. Thanks, and have a great day!
Gas running out from front tank
check that you have a balance line between the tanks (bottom to bottom) as any return fuel from the rear tank will end up in the front tank and over fill it. because the fuel cannot flow back to the back tank and equalize out.

Runs good for a while then shuts off acts like it
In the early 80s they incorporated a shutoff solenoid in the event of overheating. What happens is when the engine reaches a critical level it then opens a vacuum solenoid forcing the engine to stall to prevent it causing extreme damage. I am not sure its location on your vehicle but when it happens again, try clamping off some vacuum lines on the solenoids to find out which one clamped will the car start. hope this takes care of things. ps...change your fuel filter, It may be restricting your fuel.
My rear tail lights do
