Water in fule

you have to drain the gas tank completely, and the fuel lines, and the bowl on the carb. Good luck with that. I would also pull the plugs, spray WD40 down into the cylinders spin the engine fora while with the starter and hope the moisture gets blown out.

I have a 1986 Ford F-250 with duel tanks and I

Most of the standard Ford and Chevy tanks the 1980-1990 for pickups was 20 gals with long necked fills - so you could fit 21 gallons per side.

Stalls out

For this vehicle to stall out and allow for a restart the most probable is the TPS(throttle position sensors),the next can be a EGR, when you traveling on the road and you make a stop if the EGR puntle doesnt close properly the vehicle will stumble and you stall out, then there is the low fuel pressure this can be caused by fuel pump or plugged filter, then you may have a IAC(idle air control) the idle control maintains the proper engine speed to prevent stalling,There are many probable causes of stalling out each has it own unique characteristic this depends on the condition in which a load (in gear) was placed on the vehicle or no load. also how you stall and are you able to restart the moment you stall out, or do you have to waith till the engine is cool before you can restart, there are many factor that are involved

Where is the fuel filter located on a 1986 F250

Thanks for choosing FIxYa and welcome to the site. They are usually on the same side as the gas cap. You can always easily find it by going to your gas cap and following the gas lines under the car. Start where you put fuel in it. You will see the gas lines under the vehicle. Follow the ones that lead to the front. You should run right into your fuel filter.

First gear is very slow

First thing I would check is the transmission fluid level. This needs to be done with the engine at operating temperature so warm it up first. The transmission fluid dipstick is usually located towards the back of the engine and looks very similar to the oil check dipstick. It will have markings on it either of two notches which the level should be in between or a hash pattern which the level should be visible on. If it needs a top up ask your local parts store for the appropriate fluid. Be careful not to overfill as that can damage the transmission. Cheers, Dan

So I bought a 1988

Try replacing coil. Ford coils are notorious for issues. Common issue when coil gets warm, oil in coil expands and leaks upward into coil wire shorting out. When it cools down, starts right up again until warm. Note: This MIGHT be your problem - it does happen.

Replaced Carb with a Edelbrock electric choke and

The choke may be out of adjustment if the choke blade is fully closed you may have to adjust until partially open. The other possibility is the distributor is not installed correctly or the plug wire may be mixed up.
