You have teeth mission off the flywheel/flex plate and most likely a damaged starter gear as well. In order to replace the transmission flex plate (that is what it is called in this car) you must remove the transmission form the car

We are fixing a crown

I know I have taken the fuel line off of cars to pump fuel out of tank and it only pumps soon as you turn key on for a couple seconds. And while your cranking it. But keeps pumping while it is running, I think it is the relay that keeps it running. Not positive. Did you hook it up the same as it was? How about the fuel pump cuttoff switch? If you hooked it up to part of the system, like the ignition, but it isnt connected to the computer through another wire that turns the relay on while it is running, then that may be it? Just trying to help. But I know if your racing You should have some sort of cuttoff on it just in case some hatter slams you into the wall and blow up. lol Good luck and have fun

Do I need to pull the engine out of my 1989 Ford

Not absolutly positive for that car. However nothing i have ever worked on or talked to someone who worked on any car has to pull the motor to remove the oil pan. There should be enough room for it to come out. You will have to have extensions for you ratchet, and more than likely a swivel. If it is rear wheel drive you may have to drop the pan down to the cross brace then take the bolts out of the oil pick up tube through the gap in the oilpan. Two bolts, maybe one? But then it will fall into the pan and then will fit out. I hope this helps. And yes you have to torque the bolts. First snug them up and then criss cross one front corner then the opposite back corner etc... Not sure what torque is, like 24ft lbs? Ask the autopart store you buy the gasket at and they will tell you.

Honestly I would highly suggest just patching the hose.. Mine was leaking, so I had bought a new one from napa. That hose is torqued down, couldn't get it to come lose. Stripped it and now its not coming off. Should've used a crows foot, was just being myself lol and not thinking. I just threw some power steering fluid + stop leak in and its good as new.

You need to have the water pump replaced-while that is being done, replace the thermostat, and have the cooling system flushed. That should cure your overheating problem. A Tune Up involves a new distributor cap, rotor, plugs and plug wires-goo idea to have the throttle body cleaned when this is done, new air filter and maybe an oil change/filter and a new fuel filter. While this will cost a decent amount (about $300 to $400), if the car is in reasonably good condition, it will give you another 50,000+ miles before it will need much else besides oil changes. The most important thing, though, is to get the overheating under control-if you overheat the engine, it might be fatal to the car period.

My transmission jerks when i drive around 45 miles

It is probably "searching" for overdrive. If you are doing in town driving only leave the selector in drive. It should stop searching for overdrive. Once you get to a place that you will exceed 45 put it into od and it will probably shift normally.

When it crank up it

Here is a diagram of the 302 distributor and firing order. If you connected the wires to the distributor in the firing order, chances are you went in the wrong direction. The diagram shows the rotor spins counterclockwise in the firing order. If it was hooked up reverse, you may have one or two cylinders fire, the rest are a jumbled heap of unburned fuel in the exhaust. Also check your distributor cap for wear, cracks or broken towers. Then check your rotor itself to make sure it is still in good condition and is not burned down/disintegrated. I had a rotor disintegrate on me once, and the car sounded horrible until I got it replaced.

Where is the fuel filter

The fuel filter is under the car, on the inside of the left frame rail. Be careful to not break the clips. You will spill some fuel, it is inevitable.

How do you replace ingnition

There are two possible answers. One with a distributor and one with the electronic distributorless ignition system. I'll put both here, starting with the distributor style first.

1) remove the negative cable from battery
2) remove the wires from the primary terminals on the coil (if there is only one, then remove that one)
3) unplug the secondary coil lead
4) remove the bolts and mounting bracket.
Do the same in reverse order to install new part
DISTIBUTORLESS SYSTEM
1) disconnect negative cable from battery
2) remove coil wires from each coil pack (Do NOT just grab and pull the wires off, use the locking tabs, push them in, twist and pull the wires off)
3) remove the bolts and bracket

When you replace the system or spark plug wires, using dielectric grease is a good idea.

On distributorless models, make sure you have the wires connected to the proper coil using the firing order as a reference. Firing order 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8

Tip: Mark and label the wires so you do not mix them up
