My 2000 Explorer 5.0 engine is really hard to start.

Fuel can be a problem. There is a system called the "cold start sequence". This is an electronic solution to the old choke system. This system is triggered by the water temperature sensor. If the water temperature sensor is stuck on a warm mode, the engine will not have a choke. You might change the fuel filter and check the fuel pressure. Check battery voltage too as sometimes weak voltage will make for misfires and as the alternator creates more juice the engine runs better.

Electric windows. Front passenger only not working. Is it more likely the mechanism, or the fuse? If the fuse all the windows would fail?

There is a relay in the door which works the automatic up/down control for the window. You need to see if you have power before and after that part. The window motors have been a problem through many Ford lines. Don;t be surprised that you have power at the window motor and it will still not work. Many window motors were made with solder which broke. You may be able to resolder the broken connections.

Dose the alternator have a fuse

Yes it does. But it is for the field. They rarely blow. If your not charging and the alternator is good. The is a 175 amp fuse on the left side of the fuse panel. It under a plastic cover, pull it up. It is bolted on. It is also under the hood.

2000 ford explorer reverse light wire color, and location in the front of car.

The reverse wire is black with a pink or purple stripe usually on Ford and is located under the hood below the brake master cylinder and brake booster in the wire harness that runs along the frame to the rear. Im not exactly sure which cable that wire is in, but it will be the one that runs along the frame to the rear or the one that runs along the floor in the channel along the floor at the base of the door up to the kick panel where it joins the wiring harness in the dash. Be careful with the wiring in this car. Ford uses a lighting controller to operate everything in the interior and exterior lights and you don't want to damage it. Used they are in the hundreds last time I had to buy one. That 16 or 18 gauge black wire with the purple or pink stripe carries +12 in reference to chassis to the backup bulbs in the rear and is probably fused at 10 amps. Make sure you test it with a test light before you cut or hack anything. DO NOT TOUCH ANY WIRES THAT ARE BRIGHT YELLOW OR ORANGE. They are for the air bags and they will go BOOM and you will be stunned and you will know pain. Hope that helps.

When its hot out my 2000 ford explorer with 302 runs sluggish like it has no power but when its cold it runs pretty good.

you might want to try cleaning the EGR valve could be sticking from excess heat. however that type of problem is usually picked up by the OBD2 and should send out a code, but if its minor enough you might not get a code or light yet. good luck but Id give it a try. appreciate a rating
