The gauges dont work, i never know how much gas i

You may have a cracked fuel sender float that is filled with gas, and or a bad ground wire from the sender.

Both cheap to replace no more than 8 bucks for the newer float, check out DennisCapenter.com and LMC for the float.

REPLACED master cylinder on 1982 ford f 150 p/u,

I would start by BENCH BLEEDING the master cylinder, you may never get it to expel all of the air if you do not.

Go to a parts store and buy a MC bleeding kit, it has hoses that connect to the output of the mc and allow the other end of the hoses to go into the reservior of the mc.

Pump until no more bubbles. Nothing else works.

BACK FIREING THROUGH THE CARBURATOR

you're probably timed 180 out....make sure that the piston is at top dead center too, in addition to the other steps you took.....also be very careful with cleaning fluid around a back-firing carb...i was burned pretty good..if you do all the other steps plus top dead center, you have to be in time

MY TRUCK IS BACK FIRING THROUGH THE CARBURATOR

You may have a bent pushrod or problems in the valvetrain, bent or burnt valves. May also want to check the cap and rotor. Normally a backfire thru the carburator can be associated with a mis-fire. How this gives you somewhere to start.

Put in a distributor on my 82 ford f150 i did not

A fairly straight forward answer provided by another... just pasted here... word of caution with his method... BE CAEFULL OF MOVING PARTS.. also disconnect the coil so you dont get bit :-)

You will need to know; firing order, #1 cylinder location, and have a assistant. Get a basic repair manual from library to look up these things. Remove #1 spark plug from engine. Place your thumb over the hole. Have assistant crank engine over until compression is felt on your thumb; this is close to TDC or top dead center. Grab onto belt and nudge engine over until timing pointer is aligned with O or TDC on engine dampner. This is near perfect TDC. Now take and insert distributor into engine so that the #1 spark plug wire terminal on the distributor cap aligns with the rotor inside distributor. If it does not pull up distributor and reinsert till it does. Tighten everything and it should fire right up. Now you can fine tune with a timing light.

Need schematics for 1982 Ford with 351 engine

I worked at the library and you can go to the Reference section ( those books can't be checked out) but you can copy what you need, they have old repair manual that are extremely detailed at the professional level, pictures of schematics, complete brake down on repairs much better than you can find in any book today that you buy at the local auto parts store. if one library does not have them then go to the next library in your area.

What parts will I need when changing a flex plate?

While you have the transmission removed be sure to replace the rear main bearing seal.On a1982 you will have to remove the oil pan to replace the seal,It has a two piece seal. After removal of the oil pan carefully remove the back main bearing cap,you will have to use a straight pick to roll the top seal out of the block.Lubricate the deal with oil before you install it.Be sure to get a new oil pan gasket with your other parts.Make sure you torque your main bearing cap to manufacturer's specifications.

Brake porportion valve on 1982 ford F-150 moved

If you are certain your valve is the problem, then you need to replace it, you can't adjust it. You should make sure your calipers and drums are correctly functioning. Make sure your master cylinder is functioning correctly, as well as making sure that your brake lines are not stopped up or leaking. Replacing the proportion block is one of the hardest things you'll ever have to replace on a brake system. The bolts will be rusted.
