1965 Ford Mustang - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
I put a painless wiring on my 65 mustang. I have turn signals and tail lights but I blow fuses on the brake lights.
Does the fuse blow before or after you step on the brake? If it blows only after you step on the brake, and voltage from stop lamp switch only goes to rear brakes and not through multifunction switch. If only one connector at the rear for brake lamps, take connector loose, step on the brake, if the fuse still blows, the problem is before the connector. You could Use new wire from brake switch feed, when brake switch is activated, to the rear brakes. Leave pigtail at both ends, splice in new wire, You could let new wire just lay on the ground, for testing, from brake switch to rear brakes. If the brakes work and doesn't blow the fuse, Make the new wire permanent and route the wire properly. Just my opinion. I don't have wiring diagram for your model year.

How do you remove the front seats from a 1965
NO. there will be 4 bolts under each seat, pull the seat all the way forward and remove the rear 2 bolts at each end of the seat track, then push the seat all the way back and remove the 2 front bolts.

I have a 65 ford mustang,perfect conditions,
If you've got a 65 Mustang in perfect condition, don't worry about the cost. The car's worth more than you think! I'd find a classic car club to jion and ask other members who they trust. Many of them won't answer but a few will. Otherwise, check your local BBB for car repair shops with good ratings.

Install factory automatic transmission floor
All I can suggest is to go backwards through what you did. Look for the part that seems wrong or out of place. It could be something as simple as a mounting or bolt in the wrong place. Or even something fitted the wrong way around.

1965 mustang. are there fuseable links in the
Sounds like it could be. It's not big enough for an inline fuse, is it? I recall seeing those glass fuses that could be rated at 30 amps, so that could do the same job as a fusible link. And going from the accessory post to the wiper switch is odd without a fuse link or an inline fuse that protects the circuit. Generally, the accessory post wires are directed to the fuse block first before going to the circuits.
I'm doing a little rewiring myself on a friend's '51 Chevy (rustbucket) car. It appears there are only 2 fuses standard on this old thing. The wiring was pretty simple back then. How many on your '65 ford?

Dwell angle
200 cid 6 cylinder: dwell 35 to 38 degrees, point gap .024 - .026, initial timing: 6 btdc for manual, 12 btdc for automatic. You'll need a semi-decent dwell/tach - something in the 25 to 30 buck range should do nicely. Good luck.
