2004 Pontiac Montana - problems

Unfortunately, GM really screwed up the 2003-2006 instrument panels and there have been thousands of problems but not recalls so far. You might want to consider a complete rebuild of your instrument cluster. There are multiple on-line places that you can send your instrument panel into and they will completely rebuild your instrument cluster and replace the dashboard lighting also. Most of them charge in the $200.00 range for this service.

http://gmgaugerepair.com/vehicles/ is just one of the many rebuild services available

I need to change the tension pulley on a 99

There should only be 1 bolt holding the arm in place and it should be accessible from the top side. Not exactly an easy process but doable. Here's a video of process. Can't see a lot because of the camera angle and the confined area, but it should give you a general idea. You can skip to approx. 6:20 to get to the actual extraction and 7:35 for the replacement if you don't want to hear all the general rambling. Hope this helps.

More likely a fuel system problem starving the engine - particularly the fuel pump. Check the whole system (lines, pump, filter, fuel pressure, etc.).

Where is bleeder on Vw-Audi 4 cyl-1800 engine

get a pressure test on radiator via a radiator cap that has a pressure gauge with the engine running . The head gasket is probably blown on the engine and this can cause exhaust pressure to go into the cooling system and create this symptom you are experiencing. you may also have more expensive problems like a warped head or cracked head . $$$$$ - remachining or welding and remachining of engine head and a blown gasket .

My 1999 Pontiac Montana starts fine, and then sometimes dies

The starting /keep running issue is probably a slow IAC (idle air control)Next time turn the key on,wait 3 or 4 seconds then start,if it keeps running after that wait time everytime,it most likely is the IAC,,,,,,no big deal. How long does the van sit when it has a dead battery?

My 99 Pontiac Montana Keeps running Hot.I replace the thermostat , Coolant Sensor..Is It possible that the water pump Is Bad?

The radiator may be plugged or the head gasket can let compression gasses into the radiator . To check, run the engine without the radiator cap and look in to see if there any bubbles in the coolant. If there is a lot of coolant moving in the radiator after the T/stat has opened, the water pump is ok. If not then suspect the water pump is not circulating enough water.

I Blew a Fuse IN My 99Montana.. Since then .I replaced that Fused...Now my dash light Comes on here and there.....Is my light switch damaged...Possibly Ground Short???

You probably have a short or a loose wire. This is likely what caused the fuse to blow in the first place.

Does the car have any other relay or fusses in other place?

Have you checked under the dashboard yet? Today's cars and trucks have two fuse boxes. The first is on the driver's side of the vehicle, usually under the kick flap to the left of the brake pedal. There should be a pop-off cover or box located on the firewall that contains a number of fuses. It isn't likely to be a fuse fault, though. It sounds like you are experiencing problems with a thermocouple style switch. In other words, when the the switch or device reaches a certain temperature, it switches off. To find this particular device, you will have to obtain a service manual for the electrical and fan systems and then you will have to find the diagrams that cover the fan. Study them and you will likely find that there is a special symbol there that shows there is a heat-activated or thermocouple switch. If you identify it and feel comfortable handling the job, remove the old switch and swap in a new one. The chances are good that this is the whole problem. I honestly doubt it was a fuse in the first place. One other suggestion is this, look to see if there might not be a cooling system switch that handles this function. You'll need the service manual for that, too.
