I have a 2004 Ford F150 5.4 Tritan. I have had 5 broken flywheels in the last 6 months. Im about to take her out back and beat her with a bat.

5 Flywheels? Where EXACTLY are they breaking? This will give clues as to what the issue is. Have you used a Dial Indicator to check the 'run out' on the flywheel and the crank flange? This is a measurement to see if the crank is spinning the flywheel without any wobble which could be signs of issues with crank seals, big end bearings and/or the crank itself. Use the comment button below with more information and I'll try to help you more.

How do I replace the cigarette lighter housing?

The cigar lighter is installed from the back of the center trim panel.

To remove the center trim panel, open the ash tray and pull out on each lower corner. It will be hard the 1st time you remove the spring clips. Once the lower part is released, work your way up to the top, there are 3 spring clips on each side of the center trim panel. ( circled in black in the picture below )
When you get to the top, be careful how far out you pull, the Passenger airbag deactivation light is at the top, with 2 small wires to it. ( circled in green )
sscullys_72.jpg

Once you have the center panel released, you can remove the HVAC connector ( clamp over type connectors ) or work on it in the truck.

Remove the cigar lighter connector, and release the locking tabs on the cigar lighter body. Pull the lighter plug through the front of the panel.

How do I do a factory reset on a 2004 Ford F-150?

To do a hard reset on the vehicle disconnect both battery terminals and touch them together without touching the battery for 60 seconds. But it sounds like you may have failing coils.

Q problema es el codigo

have a 2004 ford f150 with a 5.4L. While the truck would sit and idle my temp gauge would go to zero and the check gauge and check engine light would come on. Ran the codes and got P1289. Cleared the codes and truck would do fine for a few days and then it would happen again while sitting and idling. I replaced the CHT sensor and cranked the truck. The check gauge light can on and got the P1289 code. Replaced the CHT again(thinking the new one was bad) and cleared the codes. Cranked the truck again and it did the same thing. Cleared the codes and the check gauge light and check engine light would come back on with the motor running. When the motor is warmed up, I turned on the key on without cranking the motor, the temp gauge works, when the motor is cranked and running, the temp gauge goes to zero and the the ckeck gauge light on back on and gives the P1289 code. Does any one have any ideas on what to do

Why do spark plugs keep getting destroyed?

I'd suspect a probem with timing. An engine running with the timing off can run very hot from pre-ignition. Overheating can cause plugs to fail prematurely.

Where is a shift solenoid located on a ford f150

They are in the transmission . Remove the transmission fluid pan. You will see the valve body , the solenoids are mounted to it. They are clipped in. Do not remove the valve body unless you have to. Things pop out of it. Be careful removing solenoids, things can pop out of these holes also. Hold the solenoid and remove the clip/s.

2004 f150 codes 2197,2195. changed all 4 o2 sensers,mass flow senser fuel pressure 39-43. still stalls

Codes indicate; Both sides of the Engine are running lean. Your fuel pressure reading indicates; Fuel pressure is way too low should be about 48 pounds Min to Run correctly! Check voltages for 13.8-14.5 Volts at the battery while running and about 12 volts+ at the Fuel Pump Fuse, Check for fuel line leaks starting from fuel tank (Most likely won't find any), Next should Replace the fuel filter in this case regardless of what you find (Check for leaks before and after replacement), Next Replace the fuel regulator (Check for Fuel and Vacuum leaks) and finally Replace fuel pump. However, other opinion are as follows; What causes the P2197 code? O2 sensors create a rapidly oscillating voltage signal based on the amount of oxygen in the exhaust stream. The voltage signal ranges from 0.1 volts to 0.9 volts. This oscillating voltage takes place in a matter of milliseconds and should never maintain a constant voltage. This code states that the voltage is not oscillating and is being held high indicating a lean condition in bank 2. P2195 Possible causes Faulty Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 harness is open or shorted Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 circuit poor electrical connection Inappropriate fuel pressure Faulty fuel injectors Intake air leaks may be faulty Vacuums leaks Read more: https://www.autocodes.com/p2195_ford.html It'll work ...Enjoy!

No power to the fuel pump

Your inertia switch is located in the right hand kick panel at the top, hard to reach with panel on, you can check it to see that it is in fact pushed in, but they sometimes burn out in this position, try using a jumper wire across the connections of the inertia switch and see if your pump runs, if so replace the switch, try the same for your ranger. Hope this helps, let me know
