Relay makes buzzing noies

This is usually a sign that the contact points in the Relay are bad and the Relay needs replacement. Another problem can be the wiring to the Relay no longer connects a terminal to the Relay. The Relay would not lock or stay engaged and the Coil inside the Relay would buzz because it can not connect and engage the magnets inside the Relay coil.

The rear drum brakes:
  • Have internal shoes that expand against the brake drum (1126).
  • Are a single-anchor type.
  • Are actuated by one rear wheel cylinder (2262).
  • Have two pistons in the rear wheel cylinder (2261). One exerts force against the upper end of the primary shoe; the other exerts force against the upper end of the secondary shoe.
  • Adjust rear brake shoes and linings (2200) automatically.
  • Need manual brake adjustment if the adjusters are not operating properly or after the rear brake shoes and linings have been replaced.
When the brake pedal is applied, hydraulic fluid pressure forces the pistons in the rear wheel cylinder outward, moving the rear brake shoes and linings against the brake drum.
The rear drum brake system includes the parking brake mechanism. Refer to Section 206-05 .

Why does my 97 f150 miss between 40&45 only

Check your fuse panel for a blown fuse. Sounds crazy, but Ford trucks have that problem.

I have a 1997 ford f150, my air conditioning vents

Do all of the speeds on your fan still work? If not the resistor probably needs replacing. On a 2001 f150 its located behind the glove compartment. If it is bad buy one with a pig tail, very often the connectors melts. f7ef2df4-4326-4dee-bbdc-604a931ddfa1.jpg

Battery checked, has gas, oil, all fluids and belts are good what else should we check

If the engine turns over use starting fluid and see if it starts. It sounds like your fuel pump is bad. You could try banging on the bottom of the fuel tank and see if you could knock a little life in it. It worked for me a few times.

What could be the possible cause of an A/C compressor not disengaging on my 97 F150?

check that the thermostat in the evaporator box is working as it controls the ac clutch action. If it is not functioning correctly (or the relay that it controls is faulty) then it will continually read hot air and not cabin temperature.

Can some one tell me the torque spec. on rear pinion nut ?

It depends if you are replacing the pinion seal or fitting up a whole new pinion collapsible spacer. If it just the seal that you are replacing then the tension will be to do the nut up until it is firm. Any over tightening of the nut will further collapse the spacer and over preload the bearings . If you use a new spacer then the tension on the nut is determined by a turning torque on the pinion flange as measured by a spring balance and string. To get it right consult a workshop manual.

How do I change settings on the ford vehicle security system?

The EASY thing to do is stuff the speaker (under the hood) with a rag, and tape it in place. Quiets it right down. Or shut down the security system altogether, bypassing its wiring. Unless you live in a pretty bad neighborhood, nobody's likely to steal a 17-year-old regular-cab half-ton two-wheel-drive pickup.
