have you replaced your temperture sending unit

the sensor in question should be found directly under the thermostat housing, it normally has a round terminal attatched

Engine Code 214 is Cylinder Identification Circuit failure. Since it is intermittent check to connector to the camshaft position sensor and make sure its a tight connection and there's no corrosion. If that doesn't fix it the CID may be bad. The Cylinder ID (CID) sensor provides crankshaft position information to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The PCM uses this information during engine start up to begin sequential fuel injection at the correct time.
