Have no power at left headlight is it the TCM or likely the switch 2004 Dodge Dakota
NO DC power (like 12vdc ) you mean?
left low beans and high dead, and high flasher dead too? left.?????
no the TCM transmission brain does not connect to any head lamps
but BCM does. body brains.
yes all modern cars switch (electronic fuse) splits them
so if one shorts not going 80mph blind at night, (safety first) and all that. and the DOT laws that dictate that USA>
I will pretend you said USA, like I always do for the same reasons.
no country told
and then read the online service manual to you.
I will now answer for non DRL cars, no canada daylight running lamps malarkey.
USA no DRL options, that love to fail DRL does.
Not fog option,just heads./
yes, no fuses for one lamp
the central timer module run them directly,
this so called timer is BCM, the manual explains that.
things to do:
well test all lamp again LEft
low beam , high beam, and flash highs./
if all 3 fails ground wire is open
test all lamps inside and out to see if BCM fail in other ways
if only lows fail lamp is bad or wire to it is shorted to car battery
if only highs fail lamp is bad or wire shorted here.
if not shorted the wire is open
if you scan the PCM it will tell you Via BCM comms, the wire that is bad and why (open or shorted)
at the last resort.
reset the BCM by pulling its fuse (main) for 5minutes
fuse 12 and fuse 3 is BCM power.
or if brave pull battery neg lug for 5min. or more
and not all brains are reset, but be warned , relearn mode happens to transmission and shifts rough for 1hr or less and radio stations lost
memory of them only that you have set.
there is no fuse called RIGHT OR LEFT HL
HOW TO FIND THE CHASSI VIN NUMBER OF DODGE DAKOTA
dont you have a owners manual. its says the chassis no location. if you have vehicle registration book, it will be having chassis number written. Usually vehicles chassis plate are seen at driver door side or between glass and dashboard or behind the engine below wind shield. chassis number is written in chassis of vehicle too. pull up your vehicle using lift and check the right side of the chase and you will see chassis number marked.
thanks
I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota, V6, 3.7L, with the 42RLE transmission. The tranny died last week, and I have replaced it with a used 42RLE from an '05 Dakota. Shift lever on steering column in park. Shift selector on transmission in park. Gear indicator on dash tells me I am in reverse, truck will not start. Cycle shift lever through all gears, indicator stays in reverse until drive, then matches for drive, second, and low. On the way back up, stays in drive through reverse, no neuteral or park. Haynes manual for my truck mentions checking the ohms between pins on transmission range sensor, but shows it external on the case. Everything I can find on the 42RLE shows it internal in the valve body. Also Haynes does not list the 42 RLE as one of the transmissions covered. Help?
I recently had my engine replaced in my 2002 grand marquis 4.6 with a 2009 crown Vic 5.4 engine and was running fine until I broke my ignition and tried to replace it myself I bought a new ignition switch didn't work so I bought a steering column and still won't start what do I d?
I landed on this website reliable-store.com and they got me free manuals so I used it to repair and it works fine
Roaring sound front left wheel, maybe a wheel bearing?
It could be the the wheel bearing...again, as you said. I also would like to know if you had the front end aligned when you changed the wheel bearing. If the tires have excessive wear on the outside or inside tread, you are out of alignment and BOTH wheel bearings need to be changed! It could also be the brakes wearing thin...check it out!
How can i tell if my crank shaft sensor is bad?
If the crank sensor fails it will probably stop the engine. I have known a diesel engine continue running with a failed crank sensor but it was virtually undriveable and sounded really rough.
Pumping the loud pedal isn't likely to be very helpful whatever is wrong. Pedal pumping is for older cars with a carburettor that isn't in good order.
The best help will be from a guy with a scanner...
