sounds like a fuel supply problem
I would be concentrating the efforts in the carby area , possible water in the carby , blocked main jets-
bad /wrong fuel( diesel mix from the bowser) I don't believe that it is electrical from your description

check te ground. you should have a good ground from the battery to the enguine block and from the enguine block to the firewall somewhere but need both grounds.
My 1991 dodge ramcharger will
compare the voltage at the back of the alternator (large post) to the voltage at the battery, when sitting while engine off and running-the readings should be identical. If not, you have a wiring problem or if that is ruled out, the ECM is the issue. You should get readings of 12.5+ volts after sitting overnight, and close to 15 volts when first started, gradually dropping down to about 14.2 volts, at BOTH locations.
