P0700 is the generic transmission code that the ECM uses when there is a transmission malfunction. No real common issues or causes, other than low fluid/component slippage detected.

P0700 sets in the ECM anytime there is a transmission malfunction. To get a true and accurate description of the malfunction, need to access the TCM. It could be as simple as a low fluid level or a shift solenoid. It could also be as complex as the torque converter or slippage it the gears detected.

I changed thermostat and water pump had good heat for three miles and then went cold can mess with it and get it to come back and then goes cold in 3 miles

Check the heater hoses to see if they are still hot when the air goes cold. If the hose are hot it is not a cooling system problem but a temperature blend door problem. If the hoses have a different feel to them, one hot and one cold or warm, it is a circulation problem and the coolant is not moving through the heater core fast enough to keep the air hot out of the vents. This usually ends up being a clogged heater core.

Check your fluid levels again. Sometimes air in the heater core doesn't get out right away. If fluid levels are good, try back-flushing the heater core. Good luck!

Although you don't indicate the size of motor, this sounds like the computer electronic control module that is attached to the firewall under the hood. You may be able to find a used one from a salvage dealer to try it. http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/2001-01-DODGE-RAM-1500-3_167204788.html

Charging diagram

Unless it is ancient or a smart-charging system a diagram is hardly needed. For years only two wires have been fitted to alternators; a thick one traveling to the battery by a direct route and a thin wire coming directly from the earthy side of the ignition or battery light. There have been few variations. One notable one was AC-Delco machines older machines used an extra wire to sense the voltage supplied to somewhere behind the dash. The more recent smart charge systems have an extra clump of wires connecting it to an ECU which controls the battery light and stops the unit charging during acceleration to improve economy.

Changed manual clutch in a 2000 dodge ram 1500 2wd v6 truck got it back together now it turns over but won't crank

Do you mean that the engine will not fire or run? If that is what you mean, When you replaced the clutch you may have damaged the Crank shaft position sensor. It is located on the passengers side of the engine. where the Bell housing and engine block are bolted together, Just above where the exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe meet. It is bolted to the engine block with 2 bolts. If you do not know it is there and even if you do it is easy to damage.

What needs to be checked when my truck has poor acceleration going up a hill? Why does it have no power and then have surges of power

depending on the model of truck , it could be the throttle body that causes poor acceleration ,could be the fuel filter if the engine starves for fuel it will affect the performance , yo should check fuel pressure and volume on the fuel system ,it could also be the eger vavle most newer trucks and cars have linear eager vavles and if the stick a little open on idle they can cause surging ,poor acceleration even missing . if the check engine light is on find out the codes and go from there . on older models it could be the TPS or the IAC v, but i would need to know what codes are in it first . It could be as simple as bad fuel .or a vacuum leak
