Steering colum is it compatable with the

I have not tried the Aurora; however, the Riviera is compatible from 1995 to 1998 with a slight modification for the headlights wiring at the connector for the multifunction switch under the dash. You will have to add a jumper wire to make your daytime running lights operate correctly.

1995 Buick Riviera, brake lights won't come on except for the one in back window

I am thinking that the brake lamps in the rear taillamps went through the turn signal/hazzard switch. Play with your hazzard switch and see if they start working. If not, check the brake lamp switch with a test light. I believe the high mount stoplamp had a seperate wire than the taillamps for brake lights.

Clicking noise idling

check whether is your belt,as it is old one ( if it is ) and when is cold is giving the clicking noise but when it become hot it stops. Good to try is if you do have a silicone spray do spray on the belt when you do have the noise and if is the belt surely you will notice the difference. Good luck

My 1995 Buick Riviera supercharged won't start.

Check all battery connections for corossion, battery to motor and battery to body ground for corossion under mounting bolts. Also check motor to body ground strap. Also check battery wire and all otherwires on starter solonoid. Check condition of battery, even if the dashboard lights up your battery can not have enough juice to turn car over to start.

Bad supercharged

First off............. It sounds horrible. The bearings are the primary failure point. The supercharger is actually not that prone to failure. I've had several SC 3800's with well over 150,000 miles without an issue. I've lost idler pulleys many times but an actual component failure like the SC./

Engine is hard to start hesitates & jerks

Hello There

Sorry to hear that. Did you make sure to align the crankshaft sensor properly? I own a Buick Park Avenue with the same engine as the Riviera (except mine is not supercharged). It's very critical that you make sure you align the crankshaft sensor properly or it will cause severe damage to the harmonic balancer/vibration, also know as the crankshaft pulley. Make sure the fins on the back of the Haramonic Balancer pass through the crankshaft sensor properly. You can obtain the alignment tool from your local Autozone.

Also check that the crankshaft pulley is not sticking and pulling your serpentine bolt while your driving. Take the serpentine belt off and inspect all of the pulleys on your serpentine belt drive. Make sure nothing is sticking, if it is, replace the colporate immediately. This could explain the jerking motion you feel while driving. Make sure you replace the belt just the same way it came off.

If you unsure of any repair procedure, acquire a Haynes auto repair manual for the 1995 Buick Riviera from your local auto parts store.

I consider it to have the most reliable and accurate repair info available to the consumer public.

Just for the heck of it, check your spark plugs. If you haven't replace and gaped them in the last 50.000 miles their probably due for replacement. You'd be amazed what kind of problems a bad spark plug can cause. On the 3.8 liter V6 the gap is 0.60 (sixty thousands of an inch)

Make sure that your brakes are not sticking while you are driving, and that the parking brake has been released before you put the car into gear.

And one last thing. Unlike the Park Avenue where you can get away with using cheap unleaded gas, nothing less than premium fuel will do in the
Riviera. Because of their high powered supercharged engines, if your using anything less than premium unleaded gas, your starving your engine to death.

Hope this helps

Good Luck!

Loud Knocking noise coming from engine

Most likely the engine harmonic balancer on the front of the crankshaft is coming apart. This is a fairly common issue.
