Truck won't start
From your description it sounds like your clutch interlock switch is faulty. You should not be able to start the truck unless the clutch is pushed in. Try bypassing that switch.
By the way, if you have tried something and it did not work, or you are answering another expert's question, it will be helpful if you repeat both question and your answer in your next comment. No one but you can see what other people have suggested, so if you don't repeat their suggestion in your comment we cannot see what has already been tried yet.
Thank you for using FixYa.
Frozen seatbelts in 1999 Ford Escort Wagon
That's a safty issue. You sould be able to raise hell down at the dealer, and get them to cover it. As long as you have not altered anything, and the car is all stock/factory.
Changing a brake light switch on a 1998 dodge neon
if you look under dashboard toward the top of the brake pedal assembly there is a little white/cream colored box mounted to the same bracket as the pedal, onec you locate this box all you have to do is turn the plastic unit 90 degrees and it will slide off the bracket, there is one electrical plugin on this switch. fairly easy job just difficult to get to
I need to replace a front brake line on my 1999
no it is not that difficult you need to change the line then bleed the affected brake which consists of two people one pumping up and holding the brake pedal down and the other one loosening off the bleeder valve to let the air out depending on how much air is in the system is how long it will take to get them bled after replacement
Check engine light is on my 1998 ram van 3500
Bring it to a parts store, most will scan for engine trouble codes for free. They will plug a hand held scan tool into the vans diagnostic port (under the dash) and 'read' codes stored in the van's computer. They can tell you what the codes mean, and suggest how to fix it. If you have any further questions at that time, post them here with the code #'s. Good luck. Curt
Noise right front wheel
try steering the the car to the right and the left while driving down the road. listen for the noise to get louder or quieter as you steer the car. which ever direction you steer and it gets louder it will be the bearing on the other side. for example if you turn right and it gets louder its the left bearing because you have just shifted the vechical weight to the left side by turning right. and also in that same situation the bearing would get quieter because you have just unloaded the left bearing and put the weight to the right side.
Truck won't move
Unfortunately, it sounds pretty bad, good job listing the symptoms though, appreciate it. Now what I would do next is replace the oil completely (and filter if there is one). Its your last hope of saving the trans, plus you can get some valuable clues. When you drain the oil inspect it closely for metal filings/fragments, and take note of the smell too. Does it smell burnt? Is the oil discolored? Also pay attention for leaks, trans oil level doesn't usually go down unless theres a leak. It doesn't hurt to save a sample of the oil or fragments for an expert to inspect. Unfortunately, if new oil doesnt change anything, then overhaul is iminent. Hope this helps.
Pick up Not starting
I had a similar problem with my 95 Dodge with a cummins in it. Took
forever to figure it out and so every morning, or if it sat 6-8 hours,
would have to operate the primer pump under the hood to get it started
for the day. Long story short. There is a fuel supply line to your
engine and all diesels have a fuel return to to the fuel tank. After
replaciing a section of fuel supply line with no results, discovered
there has been a history of undetectable micro perferations in the
steel fuel return line. The defective section of return line is
normally the section in front of the firewall. I replaced this section
with rubber hose. Its been several years since I did this repair... and
if I recall correctly, hacksaw removed the firewall section of steel
return tubing and hose clamped a section of rubber fuel line to replace
the steel line I removed. I've never had a problem with engine starts
since doing this repair. Hope this helps you out.
