Will not shift into 4x4 and vibrates bad
Hi, did you check the transfer case fluid level at all ??
Could also be your metal vaccum lines on the cross member and along the passenger side of the frame to the front axle assembly where they connect to the axle vaccum switch diaphragm. are rusty and leaking not engaging the 4 wheel drive all the way in gear.
Will not go into reverse.
Hi, have you checked the fluid level on this ? If the fluid smells burnt and is brownish in color most likely the first and reverse clutch has burned out, or the rear reverse band may need adjusted.
If your fluid is a mid to dark brownish color it may need rebuilt and if it smells burnt also.
The reverse and first gear shift work off the same clutch pack inside the transmission and off the reverse band as well. Also if by chance the reverse band spring is broken or the piston push rod has broken will cause loss of reverse too. The forward gears will still work but may get sluggish and take time to engage over time.
Dropping out of overdrive when coasting
Hi, Ted I have a 1998 dodge ram 2500 5.9L gas automatic. I rebuilt the transmission myself with a master rebuild kit and new torque converter due roughly $400 for the kit and converter,12 qts of oil and new filter, and the spring, It stopping all together one day without notice.
I found out when I took it apart the valve body to check things in it that the 3-4 shift accumulator valve spring was broken in half in the valve body causing it not to shift into 3 or 4 overdrive correctly which in time burn out the clutches and torque converter. This accumulator vale is a pump in which keeps a constant pressure there for the 3rd and 4 th speed shift when it calls for it as you drive. To check to see if this spring is in cracked or broken drop the main tranny oil pan and fluid, then remove the 5 torx screws from the metal plate there on the valve body be careful not to drop the spring and the piston when removing the plate off, there might be some slight pressure on the plate if the spring isn't broken.
The new spring should cost maybe $10.00 dollars or so minus a new pan gasket, and depending on shipping.
Smell the fluid dip stick to see if it smells burnt, and its color should be a pink red for normal oil if its burnt like brownish in color the clutches are burnt and it will soon fail and stop.
Bogging down
you might have a bad tps (throttle positioing sensor) or maybe a vaccum leak or the idle air control solinoid is bad and be alot of things. if your check engine light came on, you can go to autozone and have them retrieve the code or codes to narrow it down
Cv axle makes sounds
the sounds should be a clicking sound at low speed when cornering. Only fix is to replace with either new items ( expensive) or rebuilt units from reputable axle reconditioners
Plow drains battery
sounds like you have a broken wire, touching ground, or on of your solenoids is pulling power all the time for your plow

The factory harness should never be cut out and all colors match up. If your trying to connect with no harnesses I don't recommend it because it opens up for electrical shorts.
98 Dodge Ram 1500 Battery drainage overnight, gas leak at pump, and bare ground wire.
For starters,go to Autozone, have them test your battery and alternator, may have a dead cell, and it will run, then later will not start,it's free and only takes a few minutes. If they are good, then you have a open circuit, maybe ignition switch is stuck open or a relay is open. When was the last time you had a new battery.
Air only comes through the floor vents
You may have a disconnected control cable, either on the back of the control assembly or at the flap. More information about the car make and year would be useful.
