1998 ram 1500 3.9L just clicks no start
try cleaning the battery terminals first...after that you may need to jump start vehicle...if it runs remove the red power cable-if it stops you have an alternator out..if not replace battery.
Over-drive shudder 45+ mph
The P0308 could be showing up because of the torque converter shudder. Go to your local trans shop, or parts store and get a bottle of Smart Blend. It is the best additive for TCC shudder. Do Not put anything else in your trans. This stuff works, and it is the only additive recomended by GM, and Dodge.. It is not but about $10, if your converter in not to far gone this will help. If it is all you are out is $10. Good Luck.
WHY DOES MY ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON?
brake and abs light check brake fluid level. The round float in the master cylinder directly controls the 2 dash lights.
The light is NOT directly controlled by the master cylinder float. The light is controlled by the ABS Module, which location depends on your vehicle. There are a number of different reasons the lights come on. If it comes on but shuts back off within seconds, don't worry about it, that occasionally happens when it gets a bad signal ("nonlatching error"). In rear-wheel-drive (RWD) vehicles, it is common for the differential speed sensor in the rear differential to go bad. You can pick up a Haynes manual to find if you can do at-home diagnostics (Temporarily grounding out the diagnostic lead will cause the ABS light to flash out a pattern indicating the error)
Check the Brake Pressure switch ( also known as SPEED CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH ) which is located below the Brake fluid master cylinder for leakage. The leakage can cause both lights to stay on and also cruise control control not working
Heater wont switch to defrost
You have one or more broken blend doors in your HVAC plenum which was a common problem with 03's. You can buy upgraded parts from Dodge or better yet, go to www,heatertreater.net for an easier and more permanent fix.
On my 1998 dodge the transfer case wont engage in any range why?
it sounds like a linkage problem ? first check fluid level in transfer case , then remove linkage and try to engage transfer case manually , if it does then there is a shifter problem if you can't and fluid level is OK then there is a internal problem and transfer case has to be removed for internal inspection, good luck.
