Yes... After a few mph drop it will automatically give it more fuel and even downshift if neccessary.. Cars are heavy.. Need more fuel to go up hills

The activator switch that engages the front axle is located on top of the axle on the right side of the Axle it will have 2 vacuum lines that plug into it usually they are red

Fix what is wrong ! Could be many different things, what codes are you getting ? The light just doesn't come on for no reason,

When was the last time you had the brakes serviced? If the brake fluid is low this could be the problem. but just filling the res is not the answer.

Need way more info than that. There is a somewhat common problem where the rf axle splines wear out. Not sure if it affects trucks that old though.

Check your batter cables. Sounds like they got brittle and broke when you disconnected them.

does the engine turn over but not fire ? check for spark at plugs if have spark then check that the air filter and any pipe work to the air/fuel system is in good condition, no cracks or blockages etc if all looks ok then i would think it must be fuel related so check that the fuel pump is working and take it from there good luck

adjusting the bands is never done except as prt of an overhaul.

You should get it to a front end shop, automotive shop or to a mechanic because it could be the front end wearing out badly.
