How to set the timing on a Dodge Ram 1500 4.7. ?

if the timing is right and you are getting a spark at the HT leads then I would check the firing order of the HT leads as it may be 180 degrees out

Have the catalytic converters checked. They are notorious for going bad which can cause those symptoms as well.

There may be a tag on your radiator support. Otherwise, you can google it. Even numbers on one side, while odd on the other.

My 1998 dodge ram 1500 will not start but when you wiggle the shifter it will sometime start can i adjust the shift cable or does it need replace... or is it the neurtral safety switch?

it sounds like the neutral switch that is worn or out of adjustment, its possible that the cable has stretched and needs adjusting or replacing.

Where is vacum switch for 4x4 located

i had the same problem with my 1996 ram. I ended up having to change the vacuum actuator on the front axle .it is located on the axle to the right side of the differential housing . Mine actually had a pinhole rusted through. It is easier to replace the mounting bracket and the actuator at the same time .
