Why reverse wont work in my 97 Dodge pickup?
A/T or M/Tboth have gears, and a reverse.i have a friend, he has 5speed,stick , he let change the lube. the kid unscrewed the 5th gear idler bolt from side , NOT the filler plug and now 5th is dead. (funny sounds from time to time)yes, only 10% runs sticks now, but we count.!Sig: I must ask questions first, I\'m blind, and my tools can\'t reach, dig?
Turn signal flasher
If you had all lights working one day and the next day you had a problem with out doing anything I would first check for a grounding problem. Easy way to fix you problem is to start by reversing everything you did for in prepping for your trailer . Put it all back the way it was and see if all lights work if so and you still want trailer lights then start fresh and connect one at a time . Most trailer wiring color systems are universal meaning they are all the same and depending on the age of the vehicle it is quite easy to install. If you have a newer vehicle (within approx 10 years) you will find that you can buy a "T" connector and it will plug right into a connection at the rear light assembly or a junction connecting left and right side. You can pick up a "T" connector at most automotive stores like Canadian Tire or Lordco . Try this first if you still need assistance i can walk you thru your trouble shoot and re-connection . Good Luck
Surges in and out in overdrive. over50 miles an hour it shift but sometimes goes out
It sounds like your over-drive is going out. Have you serviced the transmission lately? I would highly recommend also having the gov. pressure solenoid screen cleaned and as with most all Dodges, I recommend installing a inline filter in the pressure line going to the cooler. It will prolong the life of your transmission.
It's not hard to do and most any parts store can order you 1, the small inline filter looks like a metal fuel filter, cut the metal line going to the cooler, add some rubber trans. hose and filter. but only AFTER having your transmission serviced! Whoever services your transmission have them inspect the pan well, if you have a lot of metal in the pan, you will more than likely be looking at replacing your transmission in the very near future. Hope this helps.
Loss of oil pressure in
Have your mechanic check the oil pressure with a pressure guage. A oil pressure sensor is the most possible cause, but please make sure of proper oil pressure to avoid engine damage.
Slow crankingspeed hard start
The battery is probably weak and needs replaced soon. Either that or the crank bearings are worn and need replaced.
