We replaced iat sensor, because check engine light

Catalyst fault sensor. P04200 series error or similar. This indicates an oxygen sensor or impending catalytic converter failure. Have you cleaned the throttle body and the induction system. If you have done a complete induction system cleaning then I would look at your catalytic converter oxygen sensor. This is located in the exhaust pipe. Its a single sensor system and is removed with a wrench (not welded in). You can replace it and reset fault codes. If you still have the same error after clening and clearing codes then its your catalytic converter that is on its last legs.

I need to get the rear door panel off to get to the window mech

The door panel is heald on with push in clips and are removed with a trim tool that can be aquired at any good auto prts store or tool dealer. The window crank can be removed with a windondow crank tool or you canmake a very shallow hook in the end of a coat hanger and hook th clip beteem the panel and the handle and pull the clip out ( if you lose it they can be bought as an assortment at an auto parts store) The pull shut handle has a screw at each end under a plug cover that can be removed with a small screw driver. In the center of the bottom going thought the storeage tray theres a screw there and behind the trim cover that is behind the door opening handle then the rest of the panel just pops off. You may have a light bulb theat needs to be removed and if it has power windows the electrical connector can be unplugged or the switch can be poped out and then turned sideways and pushed back thought the hole theat it was in. Now the panel should be off and theres a plastic wrap thats glugged on the needs pealled off the get to the window mech. If it's been repaired before there can be other screws thoght the panel just anywhere to fix the panel so it will stay on as the panels sometin=mes break as there removed. as you may have to drill and add screws as you reassambler the door to get the panel back on. If you have never worked on doors before is best to have someone with you that has even if they haven't done a VW as they know what not to do and oncew the panel is off theres lotts of sharp places, and the window is heavey enough to fall down as it's removed to pust you into the sharp edges and the resulting injury.

I have a 98 golf gl that keeps cutting out when it

When you say heats up do you mean between the cold and hot in the middle which is normal operating range or are you over heating and the temp safety system is doing what it is designed to do and shutting your engine down so you don't damage your engine. Check you water pump, Thermostat and radiator before you try pulling or bypassing that switch or you could ruin your vehicle beyond repair.

You will need to find a push button or valet switch (hidden somewhere under the dash), This will help you in turning off the alarm. Once you find this button, turn the ignition key to the run position, do not try to start the vehicle, and push down button for about 3 to 5 seconds this will shut alarm off. Good Luck.

The Key needs to be adapted to the immobilizer. This Can only be done by an Audi Dealer. You will have to take the vehicle to them so that they can read the immobilizer serial no with a diagnostic reader. They then have to get an immobilizer code from VW and use it to adapt your keys. Only they do it to insure the security of your vehicle.

Removing the radio.

You should be able to see two (2) small grooves on the face of your VW radio, one on each side of the radio. You will need to insert a small flat tool into both slots simultaneously to release the radio from it's cradle. A small flat head screwdriver might actually work.

Depending upon the radio being installed, it might actually fit into the existing cradle, or you may have to partially disassemble the dash in order to switch cradles.

OVER FUELLING ON VW POLO 1.6i. CAR STARTS ONCE HOT DOES NOT START

Backfire means timing is off and unburnt fuel mixture explodes either from compression or a hot exhaust system. Black smoke could mean the fuel mixture is too rich. A metering component is not functioning and sending wrong data correcting the air/fuel ratio.
