You could have a stuck or worn out hydraulic valve lifter or worse yet a piston rod or crankshaft bearing may be bad. If the vehicle has ever over heated or has excessive mileage over (200.000) then you may be looking at a costly repair.
1999 mk3 golf. Car shifts
Hello,
The most common cause for what you have described is low transmission fluid.
The reason being, when the car has been sitting for a while, the fluid runs back down into the transmission pan.
So, at start up, there's enough fluid in the pan for the pump to work correctly, but, as the fluid is pumped back up into yhe transmission there's less fluid in the pan for the pump.
Be very careful not to overfil the transmission, this can trigger the, " check engine light ".
I hope this help you.
Thanks, Donnie

You didn't mention distributor rotor. This part should be replaced with the dist. cap. If moisture in the ingnition circuit is the problem, try spraying entire ingnition system with WD40. This will waterproof wires cap coil and distributor.
I would like a picture of the thrust bearing, mine
you have a problem with the automatic adjusting clutch ,the bearing is easy as the metal face goes onto the pressure plate and the plastic carrier clips onto the arm ,the clutch disk has the fattest part away from the engine so it sits inside the pressure plate .the clutch is held on with 9 mm headed bolts that require a socket with a round star shape not the one with the shape of the nut in , .its the cable thats the most difficult as the auto adjuster sits next to the brake master cylinder but i have had problems here in the past till i found that if i just fitted it and then pressed the pedal it re-adjusted itself .Must get myself one of then screen pen things then i could draw a picture which would save a thousand words
My car wouldn't start this morning, I've got it
hi sarah,i assume your battery is dead, hence the jump start,if,after charging/replacing the battery, your car windows still wont close reset by using the key in the door lock,(lock car and hold the key over, windows will go up.wait 30 secs then unlock/hold key over, windows will go down, then lock the car again/hold key over until all windows shut then wait 30 secs get in and start the car,you have just reset the system).
geoff.
Hi, actually it is not
I don't think the 98 has the thing you're looking for. look in the owner's manual. it should tell you in there if it even has it. furthermore the child seats usually come with the ability to install in both the newer and the older cars.
Hi there i have a
I would start by draining the oil out and replacing it with brake fluid added into the reservoir and drained down and out the nipple. then i would bleed the system, going to need a helper for this procedure, look on youtube to see someone bleeding a hydraulic clutch.
I have a 99 VW Golf and the battery went totally
At 5 Volts the battery is totally cactus (a fully charged battery should read above 12.6 V) and from the description of hot melting wires appears the battery has a dead short between cells. Try a new battery and check battery terminal voltage before and after connection, with every thing turned off. If terminal voltage drops more than 0.2 V it would indicate excessive current draw by a faulty component. You may have to have the electrical system checked by an auto electrician to determine if there is any other faukts in the system.
